Snow snow removal.

I would like to just get this out there. For me the FEL is less than an option for snow removal!!! I have had three plowing sessions this year total of about 36 inches of snow (normally we get 250 to 300 inches) and have used the front blade the first time then the front mt snow blower and now my FEL which I bought in August last year. By far the snow blower is the best snow removal tool I own followed by the blade. In the future if anything happens to either of these two I will put the box blade on and use the FEL as last resort! I know there are a lot of guys out there who will take offense at this, but I mean to offend no one. It is just my opinion! If you use your FEL for snow removal and like it .....more power to you!
It all depends on how much snow your trying to move along with the size and the weight of your tractor when using your Fel. For me I use the back Blade (RB3584) for snow 8" or less. If snow is around 12" then I'll use the fel, I can push the length of my black top driveway with my Grand L 3540 without an issue, sure there will be banks but it does that effort less. Now for some heavy,( although not this year) snow over 12" then I do use the LA2674 three point snow blower as it is a walk in the park to move that much snow.Point is the Fel does work well if you have the tractor with weight and traction to move Snow.

I have my FEL as my only snow fighter hardware. Seems like we only got a a foot or so this year. I tried using a piece of plastic pipe over my cutting edge on the bucket and it worked great.

Hey brewdog, I only have my FEL so far also. I don't think I've scratched my pavement yet, but may have. What kind of pipe did you use? How big is your pipe? How did you cut a long straight cut in the pipe? How do you keep it from coming off?

I use a 7' rear blade and my FEL. 99% of the time I pull the blade forward and can plow in mid range so its faster than a blower, plus I have too many blower killing rocks in my driveway. We only average about 5-6' of snow and this year is been maybe 1.5' so far. I use the FEL for clearing the parking and turnaround area and it works fine for that, but I can see why they make snow buckets.
I run as much offset as I can on the 3pth so I can move the banks back a foot or so but if I bought another rear blade, I'd probably get a sliding one for more offset or an 8'

If I had to use a snow blower for snow clearing I'd never get it done. It's just to slow. I'd rather go with the blade.

I wish our trees looked like yours during snow season.

blades work great...till the sides get too high. then the blower works better. I used the plow for the 1st 2 passes on the roads im taking care of (the inside 2 passes), then swap to the blower for the last 2 passes (the outside passes). I have to keep 24'-26' wide road thru the winter per contract.. only did it 2 times this year, but worked great.
