MY Deere 4210 factory toolbox (fender mounted) is practically useless for anything, and I wanted a way to carry chains and tow straps around. The factory drawbar has holes in it to adjust the length, and after some measuring, I realized the bottom section of a Craftsman GTO (Great Tool Organizer) was the ideal size to fit atop the drawbar. I cut a section of treated 3/8 inch plywood to fit in the bottom of the organizer, and used a pair of carriage bolts with sleeves that fit the large holes in the drawbar to fasten this down. Not shown is the lid that can be strapped down with a bungee cord, I had to cut a section of that away to clear the PTO shaft.

Nice idea but too much work for me. I have to change implement way too often and adding in another step to remove the chain box would probably put me over the edge. I try to hang mine from the front uprights of my grader attachment. (I left a hook on the piece of metal I used for that upright). Seems to work well. I tried a bucket with holes for a while but leaves fill up the holes and cause the chains to rust too fast/much. I took my drawbar off due to clearance problems in the woods but that could be put back on.

Yes. for those who attach a 3 point implement frequently my method isn't practical, but as the only one I use is a 6 foot RB in the winter I can remove the carrier from the drawbar and using a long square U-bolt I can attach it to the RB frame. The drawbar and clevis need to be moved forward when using the RB so the blade can swivel 180 degrees.

Its really a nice idea to tow any thing with the help of chain carrier...especially in moving logs from one place to another place...

It is a big help when I am pulling out those (censored) Autumn Olive trees out by the roots, I can yank one out, tow it to my brushpile, unhook the tree and leave the chain clipped onto the clevis as shown and just pile the loops into the carrier, then go get another one.

Now THAT is unique, and I do have an ATV that would work. Problem is, Autumn Olives have a LOT of long, hard thorns, and getting close enough to use that gadget would mean I got stuck a lot. Another problem is that even when you cut them off, they regrow from the stumps very fast. By ripping them out by the roots, regrowth is much slower, and I can just shove the entire tree into my pile using the FEL bucket and not have to handle all the branches one by one.
