Electronics are great I am a huge fan of them!

Autoenginuity has the programing capabilities also in the enhanced version and there is an optional interface required very cool stuff no doubt!!! Holley has a very good computer also.

Plus they are building a wireless version and that is what I am waiting for in the scan tool program. :D

If I have the necessary funds, when I redo the 327 I may add the MSD fuel management system. Basically looks like a carb but is fuel injection, similar to a throttle body. Comes with a pre-programmed computer. Makes the car a little more driveable and weather tolerant.

You will love that!

I mentioned Holley has an excellent setup also, completely programmable and using wide band o2 and knock sensor it will even auto tune your motor saves you a ton of time fiddling with settings while you are learning how to do it very cool stuff.

The only thing I am not 100 percent on for the new motor is the cam. The powerband might not fit with the stock bottom end.

I ran a your combos, and here are the results. The first is the 9.5.1 stock head 272 cam version.

2000RPM 128hp 336tQ
2500 163 343
3000 200 350
3500 242 363
4000 283 371
4500 317 370
5000 339 356
5500 348 332
6000 334 293
6500 314 254
7000 282 211

Wow. Higher than i anticipated. I was thinking 300hp and 330tq max. Thanks again. Be interesting to see if the new cimbo breaks the 400/400 mark.

Remember that I have seen the HP and TQ off as much as 10 percent, which could put you down closer to your 300/330 mark. The valuabe info on this program is seeing where the power comes on and falls off. A 3000 to 3200 converter would realy wake up your combo, as that RPM is where the torque starts to come on.

Those RPM's just seem so odd after being around diesels for so long. I think Engine 228 at my station redlines at about 2800rpm!

I was going to use a 3k converter on the new combo. I might slap it in now to see if it helps.

The weather and time finally cooperated enough today to allow me to investigate. I changed the oil and from what I could tell it had about 1/4-1/2 quart of water, not much. I put in 4.5 qts of oil and a 1/2 qt of marvel mystery. I redid the last of the chewed wiring also. I fired it up and let it warm up. I had the radiator cap off and watched for bubbles. I did not see any. I am leaning to condensation causing my water in oil issue. I have a couple other bugs to solve. I can't seem to keep passenger side header gaskets from leaking. I am wondering if the header might be slightly warped and not making a good seal. I also relocated the battery to the trunk and every time I disconnect the neutral cable the car dies. The alternator tested fine and I have the neutral grounded to the frame as instructed on the relocation instructions. I did not have this issue when the cable was grounded to the block when the batter was under the hood. I have the alternator wire on the same terminal @ the starter as the positive battery cable. I will continue to experiment and see what I come up with. It felt good to hear that 327 "lope" again. I recorded a couple short videos of it running on my i-phone and will see if I can get them from the phone to here.

Actually, I found the culprit for the alternator issue. I need to run my ground cable back to the block and I believe this will remedy it. We shall see.

That sounds like a positive outcome...That's what I was hoping...:drink:
