Bright headlight bulbs.

I've installed a set of the brighter headlight bulbs in both my Dodge Truck and my sons Old Aurora. I can't remember what I installed, but Silverstar is one of the brand names.

Both the Aurora and the Ram had mediocre headlights. The Aurora was the worst. The bulbs made a big impact, more so on the high beams. I ended up aiming the headlights higher and that helped the low beams also.

On the Ram, it helped the low beams the most, but also the high beams.

To sum it up, if you have some headlights that are a little bit borderline, it will help, but not dramatic.

I just got the Dodge Ram Longhorn edition and I mentioned to my son last night that the lights were not as good as the ones I had in my Avalanche. I think they were Sylvania Silverstar Ultras, so I hope I can find them for the Dodge

I had the Sylvania Silverstar's in my Dodge. The Ultra's were not available then but I put them in my older Ford and they make a difference.

Before the Silverstar's, I had Piaa's in my Dodge. The Piaa's cost like twice as much or so and do not work as well IMHO.

I put Sylvania Silver Star Ultras in my Dodge Ram also. Although a poorly designed reflector is still a poorly designed reflector, they did help as much as can be expected. I hesitate to promote Walmart, as I don't like the place, but they are available there. I'd definitely buy the Silver Stars again.

The best ones I've had are the HID bulbs. They are twice as bright as any halogen, and last longer.

Silverstars are just a brighter shade of white. They're not HIDs, projector bulbs, or any other annoying blue/purple headlights, nor do they change the focus. They are still halogen bulbs, just not so yellow. Unless you're doing something weird with them, like refusing to dim for approaching traffic, you'll not blind anyone any worse than you previously did. You will see a bit better at the outer edges of the illuminating pattern. That is all.

I fully agree,changed my bulbs out in my 2004 dodge.Never had any on coming traffic flash there headlights at me.Some folks on here just got to complain to get attention.coobie

+1 on the not blinding anyone. I actually get more benefit from the low beam- it seems to give me better coverage on the sides. That means I may have a better chance to see the deer and avoid hitting one. THAT occurs where I live almost weekly.

Now as far as blinding oncoming traffic, I think my best bet is to put the roof bar and lets say 4-6 aircraft landing lights on it That would be reserved for the folks who don't care to turn off their high beams when I do....
