Well time for my 2 Cents, this is one we can't blame the governmet for.
We have to blame this on the speculators, and the oil companies. this is Payback for the canadian pipeline, and the Iranians. there's alot of surplus on the market, and the europeians have been cut off from the iranian oil. and the American oil companies are making a fortune from the europeans, so they are selling our fuels to europe, at a real over the top profit margin. There's alot more to the Canadian oil sands thing that they are not telling. But I am NOT even going there. But you can research it for yourself and find out what I found out about it.

If Obama had said yes to off shore and yes to anwar and yes to the keystone, supply would increase, demand is already down and the risk of the Iran situation would decline.

What does the road tax on fuel have to do with illegal aliens ??? It was bigoted trying to tie the two together. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am happily married to a naturalized citizen from Mexico. She has two masters degrees, a PhD and is a professor at a university. And she experiences bigotry all the time. She never complains but if I'm there I don't hesitate to point out to a bigot just what they are. My usual response is, "Bigoted much?"

I am a "lefty". It really chaps my ***** when I hear people talk about supporting illegal aliens. If their first act in setting foot in our country is to break the law, then I don't want them here, regardless of the argument.

People break the law everyday. Most of us couldn't drive 20 miles without breaking at least one. Doesn't make it right but it happens. But I can think of a lot of crimes that are worse than crossing a border to get a job that pays squat. One worse crime would be hiring an undocumented worker. If sleazy employers didn't hire undocumented workers they wouldn't cross illegally.

Bingo! Now that's a real "circular" discussion... If I could hire American's I would; but, they don't want to do this kind of work; so, I hire aliens.

Dang... it really p!sses me off that they need medical care and their kids have to be in "our" schools and they're driving on "our" roads - on and on!

But, they pay into social security (millions in never collected payments) and state and federal income taxes (millions in unrefunded payments).

And, I really get p!ssed when the Feds come onto my farm and into my plant and haul off those workers! Why can't the government mind it's own business and leave me to run mine...??

According to the study, the United States reduced net imports of crude oil last year by 10%, or 1 million barrels a day. The U.S. now imports 45% of its petroleum, down from 57% in 2008,

Imports have fallen, in part, because the United States has increased domestic oil and gas production in recent years.

U.S. crude oil production increased by an estimated 120,000 barrels a day last year over 2010, the report says. Current production, about 5.6 million barrels a day, is the highest since 2003.

More domestic drilling will not end the need for imports, however. The United States holds only 2% of the planet痴 proven oil reserves, but Americans consume 25% of the world痴 daily output of crude oil.

Because taxes on motor fuel go in the same coffer that supports ALL government progrems. Throw it in the pot and distribute it......

We raise bees on our little farm. Couple of hives with extra supers - barter some; give most of it away to friends and relatives. Charity, I guess.

Bees pollinate over 70% of the food crops that American's put on their plate every day. They're essential to food production in this country - vital!

Alien workers are just like honey bees! We need - farmer's and Ag producers - could not put all the food on American's plates every day without foreign workers; legal and illegal. That's the REALITY...

Wringing your hands and pullin' your hair out and cussing about "illegals" does not change that reality. And listening to Rush and Bill and those guys doesn't solve the problem, either; for them or us!

AK, perhaps you could enlighten us on what Social Security number are payments being made? The same question goes for what SSN are state & federal income taxes being paid? Illegals don't have one issued from the SS administration unless something has changed. Are they still using this "taxpayer ID" so as to collect taxes from illegals but the gov't isn't admitting to anything?
