Kubota B2630 & ZD323
So, after several years of doing without because they are so expensive, I finally got a set of kubota pallet forks for use with the kubota quick attach on my B2630 with LA403 loader. Very dissappointed that the right side pin requires serioius hammering to get it to go in. Tried filing off some of the paint inside the holes on the fork frame which made it only slightly better. This is not my idea of a quick attach (need tools). And I imagine it is going to be very difficult to remove. Emailed dealer and their response was that it would loosen up with use. Debating my options of return for refund, exchange for new frame in the hope that it won't have the same problem, or try to live with it in the hope that it will indeed loosen up with time.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Rob

Something must be bent. My forks go on and off very easy with the quick attach system just flip the lever. If yours is not check over very close must be bent or out of whack some how.

Does the bucket go on quick and easy? no hammering? if so, then I would focus on the pallet forks. the opening my be slightly out of spec.. funny thing is we hear of more "sloppy fit" of SSQA implements than too tight. Of course an angle grinder would fix pretty quick.. be careful though. I would not hammer much on the pins, I would fix the forks. It would be good to have another bucket or SSQA implement to try (neighbor?) so you know for sure it is the forks not something twisted in your adaptor, but I am assuming your bucket goes on and off easy?

Yes, bucket has gone on and off with ease since it was new and was expecting same from forks.

I think this actually happens a lot in the ss world but so many of those units have some form of automated attach that is fairly strong and does not care. But for manual quick tach I have had to grind material away as k0ua says many times so that you did not have to beat up the pins to bad.

I would grind a little at a time and try it each time.. be careful dont take too much unless you have a welder.. remember you can take off metal with a lot of things, but you need a welder to put it back

It sounds like you have the Kubota Pin type Q/A. Look very carefully on where your clearance issues are, insert a longer matching rod into the suspect bushing and give it whack as to coerce it in the direction you need. Welding has the tendency to pull things out of perfect alignment, even with jigs. It is aggravating but may be able to be fixed rather easily.

Aha. so this is not SSQA then? I forgot about the propriatary attach on some of the smaller Kubota's. sorry. I am sure it can be fixed though as magicheater suggests

My Kubota QA pins fit a little tight, too. Currently we only have the bucket for the FEL, so I haven't had it off/on, just put it on the one time. I figured a bit of gentle grinding inside the holes would fix it.

That is one way to do it but taking metal off is only the equivalent to wear. Kubota brackets are only 1/4 material. A slightly more than gentle tap is all that is needed to bring the circumferences into alignment, Sometimes a bit more. Grinding will work too, if needed. This works on other colored tractors as well. :)
