Deals on new diesel Superduties???

For what its worth, BAE has picked the 6.7 to power their entry in the bidding to come up with a replacement for the Hummer. I have to believe if the 6.7 had any real issues, this would NOT be happening. Also just look at the number of Super Duties sold with the 6.7- I believe its close to 50%. I too have heard of some issues associated with water in the fuel but it seems hard to believe that the problem is that common.

Its higher than 50%.

If history follows Ford sells about 70% of the F-250 and up trucks with diesels.

Dodge sells about 80% of the 2500 series and up trucks with diesels.

GM only sells about 40% of the 2500 series trucks and up with diesels.

This is based off of the numbers for last full model year, 2011 via various publications like Diesel Power Magazine and Truck Trend Magazine. The numbers have been about the same for the last 10 years and during that time Ford has always outsold GM and Dodge combined. I have watched very closely since I bought my first diesel F-350 in 1999 and have since had a 2004 F-250, a 2005 3500 Dmax, and a 2006 F-350. All diesel along with 4 or 5 gas trucks mixed in there also.

Those are like the prices we pay for a fleet purchase. Have you ever tried to buy one off them? It looks a lot like a bait and switch.
My family has purchased many new cars from them but not me. They are a real high volume dealer and always sell below invoice, those prices are real. Plus they put a price on every single vehicle on the lot. A friend in financing at another dealer says they can still make money on the sale under invoice but it's typically only around $400.

Many moons ago. It was said if you could get the dealer down to a $500.00 profit that it would be a good deal for buyer & dealer. Don't know what a good profit for the dealer would be today. It's been yrs since I've bought new. I will probably will never buy new again

Today with the internet there is no money in new cars. I have 2 friends who sell them. One at the highest volume Ford truck dealer in the great lakes territory and the other at the 3rd largest Toyota dealer in the US. The both have told me time and again the buyer is so knowledgeable now days that the only money to be made is on used cars and add on's like paint coating, fabric coating, extended warranties, ect. But for the most part, used cars is where its at.

I wouldn't buy a Chevy or Dodge vehicle today if my life depended on it, sorry, not that they are a bad product, but I'm not an Obama Motors guy. Ford did it right, they get my business.

Ok. so you wont buy chevy or dodge becuase of unamerican politics but you have no problem buying a jap tractor?

Obama motors, really now, this is getting old. I believe it was the Bush administration that stepped in to prevent GM from going down and the support continued over to the current administration.

Because our and other governments prevent GM from extinction (because of poor management and a worthless board of directors) you do not want to buy their product? That just sound silly.

If GM went down, so would the supplier chain and every other automotive manufacture on the planet including Ford. All the parts that go into their vehicles are made by suppliers outside of the powertrain. The supply chain is very delicate and as big as GM is would have caused every tier one supplier to go down bringing the tier 2's and 3's with them.

Now lets think about the American jobs across the nation, the families that are supported, the towns and cites that depend on the jobs and the taxes paid. Your position sounds, to me, anti-American and I'm offended.

This is what the pro union liberal media wants us to believe. If you believe the media with its agendas then stand your ground. Just like this Teen Shooting in Floridia, the true story is no where near that of what is actually being fed to us.

And, yes I live in them supply towns.

You folks are amazing. You can turn a thread about good deals on a ford truck into a gm/dodge bashing political mess. Assuming literacy is common amongst all of us, read the brand bashing sticky at the top of the page. It is a very easy read. Now, to the topic at hand, they are SD Fords in my area now for 12k off msrp. The only problem is the selection is extremely limited. Most are 2wd xl or xlt trim in a non popular color. They run this deal usually twice a year.
