Oil & Fuel 4320 Fuel Guage Wierdness

I have a 2 month old 4320 that I have had some wierdness with the fuel guage since new and it is starting to bother me. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this. If I have 3/4 tank of fuel and I am mowing with my RRM for example, the guage will be pinned on nearly empty unless I stop the tractor and idle it down for several minutes at which time it reads the correct value.

Thoughts?

I have a 4520 with 50 hrs and have experienced the same problem. I saw a previous thread on this same problem. Don't like it at all ! I payed around $ 24,000 for a tractor , the fuel gage ought to work. I guess I'll just talk to my dealer next time I am in. May just be a bug that has to be worked out.

Complaint or Symptom:
The fuel gauges fails to operate or reads erratic.

Problem or Situation:
The LVA13530 fuel sending unit does not provide adequate sealing to prevent fuel from entering the resistor. The fuel within the resistor causes corrosion which, results in a failed or erratic sending unit.

Solution:
Order and install an LVA13623 fuel sending unit.

Additional Information:

I had a similar problem with my 4300 when I hit the 700hr mark,except that the needle would start to jump madly from pin to pin. Finally it jumped the pin so at 900hrs the dealer replaced the sender AND the dash cluster (instead of just the gauge) all under warrantee. Ended up starting at zero hours again......Wasn't so lucky when the signal lights quit however, and found that the flasher is integral with the switch unit. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My 4720 is at the dealer for repair right now with only 10 hours on it.

For what? Ordered mine 90 days ago today and they can not get parts to assemble the options. Dealer has a new 5205 and new 7XXX series that he is waiting for parts for.

My 4320 is in for 50 hrs service and the fuel gauge problem, and the high pitched steering column noise, and the white smoke start up problem that occurs every once and awhile.

I had the JD dealer come get my 4720 with 10 hours on it for a number of fixes:

The fuel sender was bad (was all over the place).
Turbo Oil return line leaking
Radiator hose leaking
Fuel Door hinge missing the rigth side
Fuel Door rubber bumper missing

Everything looks good now.

I am loving this tractor. I hope these problems are the last of them for a long time.

Did you ever figure out what was causing the fuel gauge to malfunction ? I have a 2006 4320 and the fuel gauge operates erratically. Most of the time it indicates the fuel is low when I'm certain it is not.

Mine doesn't read erratic. But, It is not accurate. I've replaced it with a new sending unit.... same problem. When it reads low/empty it has 5 gals or more left in it.
