Buying a 2615HST, why am I worried?

Well off I go 6 hours south to get my new to me tractor. I'm not worried anymore, just excited. I'll be sure to post a new owner thread with pics sometime this weekend. I forgot to mow before selling my old tractor(wife wasn't happy about that), so this machine will be put to the test with as she calls it, bailing hay, our grass is so high. Thanks for all the help with this week while I was buyer in waiting.

Good luck! If the machine has not been abused, and the basic maintenance done, you won't be dissapointed. Being stored outdoors is kind of a bummer, since it won't be shiny and pretty, but that's not what tractors are for, anyway.

I just bought a Cub Cadet 7305, which is identical to the Mahindra 3015, which is nearly exactly the same tractor as the 2615, just with 4 more HP. All of which were actually made by Mitsubishi. Hope that wasn't too confusing! Anyway, I LOVE MY 7305!

A friend/co-worker just sold his minty fresh, low hour 2007 model year 2615 with ML106, rear woods finish mower, and rear blade for $12000. So I think your deal is pretty fair.

The 2615 has plenty of power, a VERY strong frame/chassis, adequate features, and enough refinement to be fun to drive & use. In fact, I am a big fan of all of the Mitsubishi-made tractors.

Only the mower was left outside, the tractor was garage kept and appears to be very well kept. Once again though, I will be waiting, waiting until tomorrow to get my tractor. Ran into problems today with work and won't get on the road in time.

I replaced my 2005 Kubota B7510HST with a new 2008 Mahindra 5525 in March 2008. No problems with the 5525 in 4 years. The fit and finish of the 5525 is at least as good as that of the B7510.

Just be sure to give that 2615HST a thorough check over before handing over the cash. Do a careful walkaround before starting the engine--look for any leaks (check the ground under the tractor). Start the engine and check for smoke that persists after the engine runs for 5 minutes or more. White smoke may mean coolant leakage at the head gasket. Blue smoke--burning oil (valves, rings). Black smoke--fuel system problem. Be sure to check the tractor in all gears. Check the pto operation and look for problems shifting the pto on and off. Check the 3pt hitch for proper operation.

Went great!:thumbsup: I've been too busy running the tractor to post a reply! Trip was long and sucked a big one, but I'm very happy I did it. We left at about 2 am on saturday morning and got there about 8. Checked everything out, left at 915 and was home by 3(LONG DAY!).

Tractor got put to work right off the trailer after a quick check over and grease job. Also had to fix a couple of things that the previous owner didn't appear to know what he was doing. No big deal, simple stuff. Guy that had it only ever used the tractor to run a Brush hog and it shows. Tractor is like mint! Even the bucket dosen't appear to have been used more than once. Mower might have 20 hrs on it. That 6ft deck really knocks out our yard pretty quick. The wife keeps getting a big grin on her face after running it saturday. I hope she likes it because i go overseas this saturday and she will have all the seat time on the machine till i get back in july.

I put about 5 hours on it between saturday and sunday and i just love it. It is so much smoother and quieter than our Kubota. Did a little dirt work around our new pole barn and it can really move some dirt. Wish i would've had this thing years ago. Our B7500 was a joke. You couldn't even lift a bucket full of dirt without it getting tippy and needing 4WD to move. I had this bucket full of large rocks yesterday and it didn't even break a sweat, 2WD and all.

I will do a full write up this week with pics and stuff when i have more time.

Glad to hear you like it. The 2615 is a lot of tractor in a small package. It will handle 5' implements with ease and has enough weight for the FEL to be useful.

Hey Deezler, how do you like your rachet rake? They make those right up the road from me in Carlisle, PA. I work 20 miles from there. Been thinking about getting one instead of a landscape rake.
