How big a role did TBN play in your last tractor, attachment, or equipment purchase?

Not much at all. I've known people who've owned Kubotas since the 80s so they were on the list. I also had NH and Kioti but Kioti quickly was removed because dealers were popping up then closing down all around me. I did talk to one Kioti dealer (out of business now) about front mount snow blowers and he couldn't find any info on them. I was told the NH dealer to buy from was in another state about 2 hours away, just never made it there.

I ended up with the Kubota GL because it had a center pto (I wanted the rear pto for a sand spreader). I didn't know that much about the advantages of the HST+. But TBN members who had it, took the time to understand it, and posted were really helpful. Things like adjusting the engine speed with the auto throttle was something I never really thought about, I just didn't use the feature, now I do.

I also knew I wanted the HST for snow blowing but really didn't understand how it worked. Plenty of reading over the years changed that. It really came in helpful to understand how the H-DS feature works and why a 2 speed HST motor is different than just letting off the HST pedal to slow down.

TBN didn't have anything to do with my buying a Kubota B7100 and B2710. That was based on an old friend who bought a Kubota many years ago, and after I visited a John Deere, New Holland, and 4 Kubota dealers. However, after I found TBN while looking for a little more information, TBN members had a lot to do with my buying manuals and filters from a TBN advertiser, buying a used toothbar from a TBN member, and installing Top 'N Tilt on the B2710.

And then I've gotten information I needed and answers to questions so many times from TBN members that I couldn't even begin to remember all of them.

And finally, I've made a lot of new friends; some just on TBN and some I've met in person after getting to know them a little bit on TBN.

I would not have purchased the Kioti if it were not for the information I found in TBN. On the other hand, there has been a few items I have NOT purchased with the insight of others on TBN.

I purchased my Kubota L4400 a month before I joined TBN. I purchased a tooth bar and bolt on hooks after reading reviews on TBN. My first thread here on TBN was in regards to questions in making a decision involving purchasing a rotary mower. The replies that I received, most definitely aided me in my decision. In regards to the box blade that I bought, TBN had no influence. I thoroughly enjoy TBN.

Opinions from TBN members had no influence on my latest purchase however a TBN member did give me a PM letting me know of a good deal he had found and knew I was looking for a TLB. We communicated about it between ourselves and the owner and eventually it worked out with me getting the opportunity to buy the TLB which worked out great for owner, (sorry CarlH) but I am happy and cant wait to go complete the transaction on the new to me B26 Kubota. I guess you could say that without TBN, my B26 purchase would likely not have happened at all.

I just wish I had found TBN prior to my first tractor purchase as there is some good advise on the grey market tractors (stay away from them) although I have been fairly happy with the Yanmar that I bought with a only a few issues.

After we purchased the property next to our rental property it gave us a nice 10 acres. My wife said that she thought we should get a tractor to take care of it. (i love that woman).
She started searching on Craigslist while I was at work and found one listed as a Kioti 130. She sent me the ad and I had never heard of a Kioti.
I did a google search and typed in "are Kiotis any good" and it sent me to a thread on TBN.
After doing some quick reading at lunch I called the lady with the tractor and found out it was really a CK20, did some more research on TBN, an bought it.
I have really learned most of what I know about tractors and implements right here. Since joining and reading the advice I have bought a middle buster, and a trailer to haul my tractor on. I have made a three point drag, a boxblade, a front grill guard, a hopper trailer to haul my cow feed, and am getting ready to make a sun cover to attach to my rops.
My only problem with TBN is that it has also given me the bug to buy a little bigger tractor (ck 30), and my wife (the sensible one) keeps saying, "you already have an nice tractor that does everything you need it to".

I went thru a series of cravings for N.H.'s, Case's, Kabota's, in my 'search' for the 'perfect' tractor. TBN was always there with lots of useful personal experiences and information that helped thru the years. But, when it came to signing on the dotted line.... it was still her gentle curves, the ample tires, her soft whisper in my ear at times, how she responded to my touches, and the hope of many joyous years in the sadle........ :)

I think that is the closest thing I have seen to tractor **** in all my years here....

I too bought my tractor before coming here. I pounded the pavement going to various brands dealers and my local kubota dealer won me out with friendly service. I really wanted a JD, and the JD dealer was 5-10 mins from here but their attitude turned me off. .

However, TBN really influenced me with ideas for building implements and made me want my own welding machine. I built a few, and have few more i want to build as soon either money permits or I find free scrap metal I can use.

My situation is a bit different (not unusual for me). I started reading on TBN a number of years ago after my wife died, I was working out of state, and needed to keep myself busy in the evenings. I had always liked tractors, but had no hope of ever needing to buy one. So for several years, I read thousands of posts, bought and read Muhammad's book on compact tractor buying, visisted hundreds of web sites, read literature from every tractor related manufacturer I could find, and increased my knowledge over time - 8 years worth of time.

Now my daughter and son-in -law have purchased land on which to build, including a place for me, and have left me in charge of getting a tractor primarily for mowing the 12 acres of a former hay field. I probably would not have even considered a Kioti if it had not been for my reading, but it sits at the dealer getting prepped even as we post here. My reading on TBN and other forums has given me a pretty solid foundation in knowing what I wanted, how to equip it, what else I might need, and how to make my very favorable deal.
