Synchro or Hydraulic Shuttle?

If you had a choice between synchro shuttle or hydraulic shuttle which would you choose and why? I don't know the differences.

We traded our Case CX80 with 12/12 Synchronized Shuttle Shift in for a Kubota M8540 with 12/12 Hydraulic Shuttle Shift. I will always go with the Hydraulic Shuttle over the Synchronized Shuttle due to increased ease of use.

Unlike the Synchro, on the Hydro unit, you don't have to depress the foot clutch to change directions, the clutch pack is automatically activated by the hand operated shift lever. I don't even use the foot clutch much any more.

I've had both and prefer the Hydraulic. Clutch life should be dramatically improved especially if you use a loader much.

Same here, I went from gears to hydro and really like it.

I just ordered a new L3240 w/GST. I have had syncro shuttles, regular gear, and a hydro, but never a GST. I have played around with them, but never actually worked with one.
If you are digging into a pile with the FEL, don't you need to unload the trans./w the clutch first before moving the shuttle to neut. or rev.?
I am not questioning your method of operation.:newhere: Just asking. This is new to me, I don't have an OM for the tractor yet.
Sales people arn't always the best ones to ask, when it comes to actual operating situations.

I've never used a GST, but it appears to work like an automatic trans with no clutch, except you have to manually change gears.
