Wife and I were planning to take her folks to Bronners (worlds largest Xmas store) yesterday, wasn't my idea. It had rained overnight and although the forecast and skies both said 100% clear weather, mom in law insisted it was going to rain so they didn't want to go. Of course it was a simply beautiful day. So now they are going today which is forecasted to have thumderstorms or be blisteringly hot and humid...

Told my wife this morning I wanted to go to the car show downtown because I had planned to do that today...my in laws are upset with me, well TOO BAD, I am upset with them for chickening out on yesterday.

Would you rather go to some inane Christmas store that is open 360 days a year when it's 90 degrees, or go to the best car show in the area that is only held twice a year?

DUHHHH !!!!! Guess I answered my own question....bye now....

Last time I was at Bronner's was when I was a senior in High school. It was a German IV class trip. That would have been 1982 or 83. Neat place, but I can't see it making a difference whether or not it was raining, or if it was 90 degrees when you went. If I remember correctly it was indoors and probably air conditioned. Of course I'm also not sure I would want to go to a car show in 90 degree weather either.
That said, I'll be on a golf course in Newport News, Virginia this afternoon during the hottest part of the day. Duh!

Best solution in my opinion: You go your way, and they go their way.

Do people really buy Christmas stuff all year? I don't understand or get it. Why are they open year round?

I don't get it or understand it either...maybe because I didn't go. Now, seeing this '57 Chevy ragtop and '55 Cadillac boat (yes, it was really a Cadillac) made the whole show worth seeing it itself.

Went there with the wife 20 years ago. I'd rather get a root canal without dope than go back. Same thing with the chicken dinner thing. Way, way, overrated. Going to a tractor show next weekend, Hudson mills, near Dexter.

Very simple...enough people buy Christmas stuff all year to enable them to cost effectively remain open.

I have been to Bronner's. I feel your pain.

If you get forced to go to Frankenmuth, I may have found something that could save your sanity....
