Sorry, not you Newberry, I copied the wrong one.

Yeah, I don't like clicking on links and then have my machine go to some website that gets me recorded in the FBI database.

I was a sysadmin on Unix systems. There was a site "freshmeat.net" I went to it frequently and downloaded software, this was about 2000. I got severely reprimanded. Until I showed them that it was the largest site for FREE unix software on the net. Freshmeat.net later became freshmeat.net ][ and is now Freecode.com.

I also got in trouble for transferring massive pictures at night during I think the Bosnia war. They (the Pentagon) throttled our 100Mb connection back to 1 Mb because we were obviously transferring dirty pictures. We were scanning in hardcopy maps and hardcopy aerial imagery and transferring them amongst labs for analysis. It took a week to get it reinstated and set us back probably 3 weeks.

THEY ARE READING AND WATCHING, and often cannot understand what they are seeing and WILL ASSume the worst.

S'cuze me, there are a bunch of men in trenchcoats carrying shortbarrel guns at the door. I thought hunting season was over.

Jeeze...brings back bad memories...one volume of "the Linux Journal" came in to work, and they have a special mini mag about Python, and one of the creators was on the cover sitting at a piano stool next to a piano, in a field full of flowers...naked.
Good gravy, you'd think the company was buying me Penthouse...it said PYTHON in big enough letters, but no one put 2 and 2 together to understand that some of the programmers have peculiar senses of humor, and that Python is a language, and named after a troop of comedians. Any fun that cover could have been, it was completely eradicated in my scenario.

"What if the women see it?"
"I hope they like it better than I do, what do you WANT from me, boss?"
I want you to cancel "The Linux Journal."

Yea, off-topic but -
Several of us guys were crowded around a monitor viewing some dual processor motherboards with BIG fans at work. One of the guys made a comment something like "Will you look at the size of that pair" just as a female supervisor passed by (she was flat). She got STEAMED and tried to get us in trouble.

Globally last year was the 15th warmest on record.

How Gullible are you people? SERIOUSLY. Please use your valuable time and do your own research and stop listening to Al Gore and the U.N. who started this "current" gullible warming debacle.

Here let me put this in terms you can understand.......

Take 6 football fields and lay them end to end. That's 1,800 feet long. Now take a human hair and lay it at one end. The 6 football fields represent the history of the earth and the human hair represents the recorded history of our weather.

Now for you to make an absurd comment backed up by no possible data going back billions of years is ludicrous at best. So as long as you quote "recorded" data then as koolaid drinkers we are supposed to just pretend the prior 4.6 BILLION with a B years just didn't exist.

Those "recorder" temperatures explain everything HUH.

When you actual research you will find out that the North pole was one a tropical island, I'll actually help you out on this one.

Study: North Pole Once Was Tropical - CBS News

The same article states:

The Earth went through an extended period of natural global warming, capped off by a supercharged spike of carbon dioxide that accelerated the greenhouse effect even more about 55 million years ago. Scientists already knew this "thermal event" happened, but figured that while the rest of the world got really hot, the polar regions were still comfortably cooler, maybe about 52 degrees on average.

So what SCIENTISTS are saying is Global WARMING and GLOBAL COOLING is absolutely N-O-R-M-A-L.

And Lookie here.......I found a solution for your Global Warming:
Scientists believe a simple fern may have been responsible for cooling things back down by sucking up massive amounts of the carbon dioxide responsible for the warming. But this natural solution to global warming wasn't exactly quick: It took about a million years.

So no need to charge me for Carbon credits JUST PLANT FERNS - Problem solved.

Cat_Driver. VERY WELL PUT. I been using your argument ever since this silly BS started in Australia and I'd like to re-publish your explanation with your permission to on-send to every politician in Australia.

I enjoy reading the posts on this site, it does show that ignorance is bliss.
A few billionaires would have to change a few things to make other peoples lives better, but they have figured it out that they can buy the change of opinion cheaper and we get the trolls on these sites pedaling their BS.

tractor storage

jayhawkhuster said this in another post "Just bought a new JD 5075M with cab/FEL. Am planning on putting up morton building to keep it in along with other purposes. However, am running into some zoning issues and it may take a while to get straightened out. Anybody with idea for cover/storgage ideas for that big of a tractor short of renting storage. It might run into next year before we get the building up and would like to keep the new purchase as protected as possible. Any thoughts? "

MY RESPONSE WAS....

Jayhawkhusker, i just sent an email to complaining to every member of parliament in Australia for the same very issue of how difficult it is to spend money in a recession, when we need planning permission to build a barn to house a proposed purchase of a tractor. So Im surprised your having same problems in your country...lol The Greenies have taken over our economy so we cant generate deisel polution, but then we cant produce food either... the world has gone mad IMO.

Cat_Driver - How Gullible are you people? SERIOUSLY.

Yeah, scientists lie. They just lie all the time. You just can't trust the bass_turds. They tell ya it's going to rain and you get dry. They tell ya it's going to be sunny and it rains. Just can't trust them. Oh, wait a minute - that's all about weather and teevee weather critters are chosen for their cleavage. No science there.

Weather is not about climate change or global warming, but when weather becomes a-b-n-o-r-m-a-l it could be a sign of change. Long term change means your crops might not make it, anymore. Farmers know better than others the consequences of unwanted rain and if rain becomes unpredictable in his corner of the world it's a problem. If the entire US mid-west farm zone becomes a heat sink without rain...well, a lot of people will have problems. Reading up on Africa, its expanding deserts and agricultural destruction might help in understanding the human cost. I assume we are concerned with our future.

What scientists do is explore and investigate in search of facts. They do so in rock formations, ocean sediment, tree rings and ice layers that go back thousands of years or more. Scientific analysis of what is found helps measure air quality, temperature, geographic shifts and climate change, for instance. Comparing the results of these scientific investigations gives them a record of - in the case of climate change - how the Earth has transformed over millennium. In the days of dinosaurs they found global warming was the result of a comet or asteroid collision with Earth. So much dust and what-have-you was blasted into the atmosphere that it turned day into night and hence no more dinosaurs.

Some animals survived that cataclysm, but not the dinosaurs. You could say, the animals that die first, from global weather changes are the coal miner's canaries in the coal mine. The miners did not sit about bitching about the dead bird, by the way.

Anyway, science is not about proving what one believes to be true. Science is about truth.

So, 2 questions: Using your football field analogy - Why can you be so sanguine about Earth's destruction in the blink of an eye? Understanding the mechanisms that are creating our looming, environmental catastrophe and possible extinction, why are you so forgiving of the minuscule cabal that is so recklessly destroying our lives?

BTW, who was the CBS scientist that wrote that puff piece?
