Uh-Oh; SWMBO has suddenly taken up tractor operation!

Be aware that there is some new project in your future that you have no information on yet!

UH-HUH, and it usually starts with "...Honey, I've been thinking..."!

You are lucky that the wife takes an interest in tractors, lawnmowers etc. I cant get MY wife on even a riding lawnmower(too scary). However our middle daughter was quiet a tomboy growing up and would help me change oil in trucks and cars and wanted me to show her how to change a flat tire etc. She is married now with 2 lovely daughters and uses the Kubota B 2930 more than her husband. She also puts together all the Christmas toys that are "assembly required" . She certainly didnt get any of her mothers traits. The only good thing in not having the wife interested in outdoor mechanical things is that it is a good way to spend time in my mancave with little to no interruption.

she will start Snow Blower 101 in the late fall and I get to sleep in all winter!!!!

LOL, good luck with that, let us know how you make out. Maybe now she'll at least make you a coffee or hot chocolate from her new appreciation of hard the work is............. nevermind, scratch that.

My 10 year old daughter drives the ride on now. She does our lawn, about 2-3 acres, our neighbours 1 acre and a friend's down the road - another acre. We live in an area that is becoming more and more filled with retired folks so there is good opportunity for her to make money in the summer to support her horse interest. She certainly gets the idea of business, money and work.

I hate to say it but my wife brings me coffee 98% of the mornings annually. She is the early riser and has it made before I can get my lazy (butt) out of bed. I do appreciate it and her - a lot - period! She grew up in the country, travelled widely(globally) moved up the ranks in job positions all by doing an honest job and going beyond what is asked of her. Her work ethic is the same at home and we actually work well together when we get that rare opportunity.

She also likes the comments on TBN too!

Has she come back in from driving it to say that you need to get more tractors? Now that would be the ideal.

No to more tractors. But she did ask about that thingamajiggy that grooms arenas.

Standard Horse Arena Groomer

Which I said would require a larger second tractor... for some reason she wouldn't buy into it. Although she is only 5'5", there has been occasions that we travel on the tractor together down to the back field - she tries to wedge herself in the cab - and I do say... see we should have bought a bigger tractor and all I get is a smile!

The bigger arena rakes are a royal pita in smaller round pens. It's like trying to do a k-turn with a semi on a backroad, LOL!
Good for your wife! She's going to want to drive it more often to groom her arena.
I let my husband drive one of my tractors from time to time too. ;-) And he does get to sleep in during winter too. I don't mind at all...he surprises me with TR3 rakes and trailer sprayers, etc for anniversaries and birthdays. A husband that'll buy his wife attachments and/or machinery is a keeper and deserves to sleep in.
