Its a pretty common occurence with me....working in mucky areas of my property....This area was 2 month old spoils from my pond.....it had a lot of clay and just had not dried out enough. picture makes it look worse that it actually was...but...luckily I backed out of it with the help of the loader....I was not looking forward to lugging down my winch and a battery!!!

wow, nice, makes it b etter that you were able to get it out without digging winching, gettting a tow vehicle down there, or a come along!

I have lots of practice getting stuck. Bought a 8000 lb winch for just these occasions

In my book, it's not called stuck until you need someone else's help to get it out.

Just keep moving, and you won't get stuck.

8000lb! you planning on buring a 3/4 ton truck to the frame with 1500lbs of tools in it?

the off roader's rule of thumb with a winch is that the winch capacity should be an LEAST 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle. This it to help counteract the resistance of whatever you are stuck in. if you size your winch exactly to the weight of the vehicle, you are either gonna burn it up ar have to resort to line doubling.
