By the sounds of a couple of you, you just might get me in the dog house for sure.
Come next spring, you know who will be diging new post holes for another pole barn ? ME!! What better way to work in a new or used "post hole digger" for my tractor:thumbsup:
I've got a feeling that the new one will be the one she wants, and where she wants it :smiley_aafz: Oh well what ever it takes to make her happy:D ,if it means more toys to play on the tractor with.

Fair is fair. You got a mini barn and she didn't. Your hobby is on four tires, and her's on four feet.

I can send you the photos of nice mini barn for her. :D You ARE gonna need them. As much as you like your man cave, you're not gonna want to sleep out there.

Good points.

I started talking about building a shop at the first of the year and the wife started talking about how much of it she was going to need for storage so I put a hold on mine shop.

Wednesday Classis Manor Building is to start on an 18"x28" two story storage place for her with a 12"x28" lean-to on one so I will not have to share my shop (when I get it) for storage, etc. This is not a cheap option but she picked it out (saw it at Lowes) as what she wanted AND it is going up in a corner of the yard with no vehicle access so I still have my future shop location "free".

Since we started laying this out (adding the lean-to was my idea) I think next year we will slab and enclose half of the lean-to for me a work shop so I can get all my tools, ect organized so when I need them at least I know were to look.

We have been saving for this and are trying to do it on cash bases. The 12"x28 lean-to up one side was only $2100 more so I decided to that 300+ sq ft area under roof at the same time since it just goes up to a steep drop off into the woods

Putting the wife first is a good thing. I would prefer no shop and a wife than the other way around. :D

TexasJohn beat me to it. Do what he says.

Hmm...well, suggest you give her the one you have and build another...larger and better with the experience gained from the one you have already built. Don't recommend trying to share your man cave with goats... the billy stinks, extra space will be required for feed, supplies, they will be noisy and mess up your naps:drool:....and, worst of all, they will escape and get into all your man stuff.

Best keep them in their place... and you in yours:laughing:

Well, um, uh, being as I am a goat farmer and I also love the 'man' toys too, I would want two barns. One for the toys and one for the goats. A LONG way from each other. SO, gently suggest that she draw up some plans for what she wants and tell her that you will help her build it. (pending a nice long backrub with perks ;) ) OR, Like the other gentlemen have suggested, Now that you have the experience with building, here is your chance to "improve" on your man cave and build a bigger better garage for your goodies and give her your first try. Unless, of course, you are too tired from the effort...

BTW, I build my own barn. And my man, when I have one, gets what he wants, when he wants it. Life is so much calmer that way.

No sharing.

Animals and machinery are not a good mix, especially if enclosed together, unless you have an airtight/watertight separation.

She needs her own barn.

Well the wife took over the small 20x20 but its mostly the boys outside toys and her Mustang(I built the one side 10ft wide for the new dually nope it stays outside),well luckly I built the 20x40 further away from house. But a 30x40 shop is in the works for next year and of course she wonts me to put her in a office in it,so adding a lean to one side,I hope..

Sara,

I agree but respectfully disagree based on the question posed.

When she asks. "honey does this outfit make me look XxX, no dear you look great" or any other question that requires a subjective decision, I attempt to practice good husbandry.

I said practice, so the learning continues
