I wish the people being so negative in this post would really stop and think. Especially, "Some people will never learn," like it's just a casual incident. A woman lost her child. A family lost their sister. Children too young to understand mortality lost a friend. Yes, it could have been avoided, but that is true with most car wrecks, heart disease, and diabetes. Why judge someone who is hurting more than I've probably ever hurt in my life. Why not just pray for them. There is nothing harder than living with regrets. I can't imagine how she must feel. But, I don't blame her. I've been guilty of doing things I know I shouldn't have done, but have never had to face such a tough consequence. Please quit judging, and start caring.

I understand that it is terrible for the family and friends. But it really is preventable. I don't even let my dogs out when I am mowing, much less kids. I don't get why anybody would do it.

I don't believe any of those posting such comments meant any harm or insult, I believe they are just hoping it makes people stop, think and learn. Unfortunately some people don't reflect on what could happen by doing things like this unless they have a real example to contemplate. Let's hope the family recovers and enough is learned here to prevent even one more such incident.

Caring, IMHO, means doing everything you can to protect those you love.

I've said it in previous posts, and it may sound callous to say it now, but people need to use common sense. That means don't expose kids to un-necessary danger.

Don't be so sure. Prayers can, and do, result in miracles. We many times just don't see it happen. So, pray for the family and pray it doesn't happen to someone else. Those prayers will work but we'll never know because some tragic event won't happen and won't be reported in the news. Have faith.
