Kubota Grand L3130
Doing my tractor shopping and new is NOT in the cards for me. I have been given an allowance of $15,500 for a tractor and implements.

I keep looking at the Kubotas online, they just seems to look better in the pics. Other colors don't seem to have the "beef"

Used 32 HP seems to be about where my price range is, and I am just worried I am not going to be satisfied. I have 3 acres that will need to be mowed eventually when there is something growing. I think the majority of my work for the foreseeable future will be boxblade work smoothing things out, working on my drive, and moving dirt. Just alot of cleanup work around the place.

So the question... Is a 32 HP Kubota whimpy???

for what you said you will be doing, you will have more than enough tractor in the sub 30 hp range. 32 hp would not be put to good use for your application. you could buy a brande new kubota with a few implements to go with it if you downgrade your thinking and go with a smaller kubota with loader. Not to steer you away from kubota but for 15k you can get a john deere 1026r with mower and loader brand new for about that price. Havent shopped kubota in a while so maybe someone will chime in and give you the equivelant kubota model number

You should be able to find a nice new main brand tractor and FEL for that price. All are offering 0%. I got 48 months with JD for the same as the cash price. I found used prices to be high and wasn't worth it for me. You will find the cherry tractor only used to mow the church on Sundays the week after you buy one. That's life I guess.

I just checked the Kubota site and you can get a b3200 4wd with loader for msrp of $19k and change. Should be able to bargain them down to about $16 or so. People here seem to love Barlows for their Kubota purchases. Good luck.

I second the 1026r if your not stuck on Kubota. Nice tractors. No charge to take the 0% 48 months either with Deere.

32 HP is more than enough! We have 400 acres and use a L3800DT.

Stick with Kubota, it's the right color! :D

Horsepower is only one factor; you also need to consider the size and weight of the machine itself. In the Kubota line, you can get several size tractors in the low 30 hp range. Bigger costs more, of course, because it's more capable even with the same hp. For 3 acres, I'd think one of the "B" models, or even the little "BX" line, would fit your situation pretty well. While the "B" and "BX" tractors are not big, heavy machines, they would be perfect for your eventual mowing and would do a nice job with a boxblade, etc., during your "fixup" phase. We've done hundreds of hours of mowing, blade work and loader work with our BX over the last 7 years and it's been a completely reliable workhorse. You're also more likely to stay within your budget in that size range because the implements are smaller and more affordable.

Since you're shopping used, I'd suggest you be open to any good brand of equipment... it's fine to have a preference for one brand, but don't turn up your nose if you come across a really nice unit of another make. The major manufacturers are all making some fine equipment these days.

I have 3 acres that will need to be mowed. I have another 7 that are woods. :)

I don't care for the B series... they look too much like glorified lawnmowers to me. I don't mean to offend anyone, but just my opinion.

I looked at them once same feeling look like a lawnmower. I had a old mf1010 loved but hard to find parts so i traded it for kioti dk40sehst. I like the tractor a lot . But a small tractor has it good points i wish i had the mf 1010. But i like kioti 4yr warranty. You should look at ck or dk

I had just under 3 acres and did what you're planning with an L235 (23hp) kubota tractor with a 6' finish mower and sometimes a 5' bushhog and 5' box blade. I also ran a 5' tiller, but the soil is kinda sandy in Florida so I'm not sure it'd work in the clay soils.

If you are doing mostly mowing, you probably should stay in the 2xHP range. In reality, the 30+ HP tractors are too heavy to be ideal for mowing. I think you will find that most people that need the larger tractors for other work end up with a zero turn or something else for mowing. I went with the JD 2320 because I do a lot of mowing and I've found it to be very capable for dirt and snow work also.
