Should you ever decide to do that would you please post here first? I can almost guarantee it would be the biggest offline gathering of TBN members ever.!!! ;)

Sorry, I have already done that when I was young and liberal. Ken Sweet

I agree with you Eddie. I would venture to say that 1/2 taxes paid to ANY government entity in this country is completely wasted. Just like me driving down the road and throwing 100 dollar bills out the window of my car. Ken Sweet

not much difference than this:

Federal limo fleet increased 73%

BTW...Eddie's got my vote (should he decide to run)

50 percent of my money is spent on the Internet.
No sales tax for me.

My state recently had an amnesty program for paying sales tax on out-of-state items, they had a formula for figuring it out because nobody keeps track of that stuff. Anyhow, I just sucked it up and paid it. For me it came out to only $27 per year and now I'm in the state's good graces for the last 6 years of tax returns. I just figured it was cheap tax-man insurance.

If I buy some thing out of state, and that business has a brick and mortar place in Illinois, I must pay a sales tax.
When that happens, I say thank you very much and shop else ware.

Lets get real here... most "sales taxes" fund state governments... I would not mind a minimal (say 2%-3%) federal Internet sales tax if it was guaranteed with 100% transparency to fund elements that ALL Americans benefit from... JMO

my top choices for said taxes to fund..(not necessarily in ideal order)

>Space program
>Reduce deficit
>Rewarding educators with proven results ( 76% of Detroit's/Chicago's 8th graders can't read worth a ****)
>Support for enforcing existing immigration laws
>Support for eliminating gov. fraud and waste

list goes on and on....

That was intended to be as a joke... didn't mean to step on your toes.

Ironically I was considering contacting you about purchasing tires... even though I will still have to pay 5% tax on my purchase. Guess I'll keep my money local.

Actually we're supposed to declare out of state purchases when we file our income taxes... I write off any tractor items anyways so it doesn't matter. When Cabela's wanted to build that store in your town that was a sticking point... they had to agree to start collecting sales tax on mail order sales.

I like your attitude. Somebody's got to pay the bills...it's just that although my name isn't Peter, I still don't like paying Paul. When I used to travel, I always felt that some of what I made should stay where I was. If I was in NY I would pay for food and lodging in NY... If travelling through multiple states I would stop and refuel before crossing a border. I felt that in a small way I was helping to pay for the road system.

Hey, you didn't step on my toes, I am joking too :) I recently realize that if we wanted to stop waste and fraud and cronyism in gumment, all of us together, could not do anything about it. As the old saying goes: Too Late "The horse is already out of the barn" Ken Sweet
