Isn't that interesting, Palin never actually said what she is reported to say, and yet when she dies someone will chisel that on her headstone. And People equate a "comic" Tina Fey with Sarah Palin all the time.. Tina Fey "is" Sarah Palin in a lot of peoples mind.. Isn't that something?

We don't need no steenkin' guns!!

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future."
Adolf ******-1935

But our government would never ever do something like that. Maybe not anyway.

But, you never know anymore.

The story below is NOT what should happen... I'm sorry... but.......

I got this from a friend:
More details here: Tony Martin (farmer) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On August 22, 1999, Tony Martin of Emneth, Norfolk , England , killed one burglar and wounded a second.

In April, 2000, he was convicted and is now serving a life term...

How did it become a crime to defend one's own life in the once great British Empire ?

It started with the Pistols Act of 1903.

"...It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.."
--Samuel Adams

The UN Small Arms Treaty that Hilary is negotiating would eventually take away our 2nd Amendment rights.

And there are stupid people in congress and on the street that will go right along with him.

Good post. Thanks

I'll just point out a couple of things. If you look at some other ways mass killings have taken place, it often doesn't have anything to do with guns. Look at 911. A few individuals were able to kill hundreds of people with airplanes. Do you ban airplanes? The Oklahoma City bombing. A determined individual was able to bring down a large goverment building with fertilizer. Do you ban fertilizer? Like so many others have said, its the culture and the attitude of these idividuals that is the problem, not the weapons they are using. If by some miricale all guns could be banned, I suspect these same people that used guns to commit there terrible crimes would have found a different method.

Well then you should have read your own link. what a pile.

The guy served two years for repeatedly shooting the intruders as they were leaving the house, in the back. His license was suspended previously for shooting at a vehicle.

even with castle law in the states, you cannot continue to shoot someone after the threat is removed.

If they broke into your house and are still in your house, and you are in fear for your life you **** sure can.

You confuse terrorist acts planned and executed with help of multiple people with the simple lunatic killing spree type event as recently seen in CT, CO, and VA. The single lunatics have a clear preference for easily purchased semi automatic weapons. It is the link between crazy people and these firearms that need to be interrupted.

The Virginia shooting only involved pistols, the Connecticut shooting involved stolen weapons. The only single common denominator in these three was the mental condition of the shooters. Yet so many people want to ban weapons, but little talk about mental health issues, reporting and treatment. I guess it's a good thing they weren't able to kill that many people with automobiles, or they'd be wanting to ban those. Oh wait? What if the firearms weren't available and they still wanted to make their statement, maybe they could use automobiles, or bombs. Anyone wanting to make that kind of statement will find a way. What about acceptable levels of death? If it's not a mass shooting, everyone accepts other deaths, by any means, as "well, that kind of stuff happens"

And the Georgia mother that shot the home invader with a pistol while protecting her children is alright, but if she used a semi-automatic, she would have been wrong. or would it have been better in your small world if she let the invader do what he wanted?

It happens in the US more often than you think. One of the problems in the case of someting like a robbery where the defense of the home continues from inside to outside the home, is how are you to know that the threat is really "removed" if the perp simply exited the home? It hasn't conclusively, even if they are on the street in front of the house. Are we supposed to stop defending if the guy steps out of the house but for all you know is coming back in? If he never was in the house it would be one thing, but once he broke in and has even one toe inside, you need to be able to defend yourself. This is one of the tough areas when it comes to that type of situation. It all depends.
