1026r in an Enclosed Trailer?

I have an enclosed Pace American Motorcycle type trailer with the rear ramp door. Question: Would I be able to load and haul my 1026R w/backhoe & loader on it? I am a little fearful of the ramp and floor strength. :confused2:

You know your trailer better than any of us but my answer is no. Floor strength is a issue. Ask the manufacturer the weight per square feet its rated to. My guess is 25 to 50#. Not enough for a tractor that is putting all that weight in 4 sq ft or less.

My guess is your little tractor is pushing 2500# to 3000# with the loader and backhoe.

Agree, no. If the floor would support it, I doubt the ramp door would. Don't try it.

I guess my option would be to run a couple 2'x8' runners the length of the floor and another set for the ramp doors? Surely that would do?

What is the trailer rated at? Remember, what ever it is you must subtract that from the GVWR to get the payload.

Let's say your trailers GVWR is 3500# & it weighs 900# empty. That will leave you with 2600# for payload.

payload is not an issue here......lots of room weight wise....just the ramp door and plywood floor strength. I will call Pace American tomorrow.....Iknow the car tariler wouldnt be an issue....this trailer is considerably narrower so not sure if the ramp door and floor have adequate strength for the 1026

Another consideration is securing it? Are there sufficient tie downs in a motorcycle trailer to secure something pushing 3000#?
