M7040 "hissing" noise from under seat?

Hey guys I have a new M7040 4x4 Hydraulic shuttle and I have noticed that it has what sounds like a hissing noise or like an air leak coming from under the seat but everything works great and all the fluid levels are good, i'm not sure if its fluid bypassing a valve or what, i'm not sure if this is a problem or a common thing on these, I was just wondering if you all could help.

What is the best way to check it and if it is doing that how do I fix it? I kinda think its something like whatyour talking about.

do you have an air ride seat that has a leak? Do you hear an air pump continuously running?

No it doesn't have an air ride seat, I'm not aware of it having an air pump

Move 3 pt control lever forward just a little and see if the noise goes away. It's possible the 3 pt is raised to it's upper limit and control valve isn't going into neutral position. If lowering 3 pt stops the hissing noise then I'll guess "feedback rod" is out of adjustment.

I moved the 3 point hitch up and down and the sound would stop but when I would raise or lower the hitch it was still noticeable just not as bad

I thought about it being cold but I ran it about 5 hours this past weekend and I could still hear it, it doesn't seem to hurt anything, I think time will tell

I ordered it brand new in September of 2012 and had to wait about a month to get it

Just for chuckles I would ask the dealer. It's probably nothing, and you could approach it that way but since it's new to you and you don't know what to expect it's worth asking the question.

My neighbor has the same tractor with the basic gear/reverser trans and if it's any help to you I can walk over and see what it sounds like.

I don't want to trouble you but I appreciate the help, it sounds more like the sound is coming from around the hydraulic valves on the back of the tractor instead of under the seat.

I would expect it is normal. Kubotas have open center hydraulics which means you will have full flow through the valves all the time.
