Jim, Whipper is getting very upset, she says she is not the reason there will be no Easter eggs this year.

No, Whipper is responsible for Lee County having no snakes. She's Lee County's version of St. Patrick.:D

Dennis and Bird: We got 0.8" here, so we all got very similar amounts. My grandson and I finished planting our garden yesterday, so we are fully planted before the end of March except for replants where necessary. I'm sure glad there wasn't hail in that storm to bruise my young tender tomato and pepper plants. I looked out this morning and there is water standing between rows, so I'm sure the garden will come alive with some warm sunny days.

EDIT: Congrats to your niece, Foreman! That lamb looks almost as tall as she is. I know her parents must really be proud too.

Brought $4,250 with about another $1,000 on add ons.
Grand Champion Steer sold for $40,000.
Its pooring down rain and thunder here.

That is a respectable amount for a lamb:thumbsup: Should help finance another adventure.

I got a total of 1.05" in about 45 minutes, good run-off, maybe a foot of new water in the tank. Sure looks greener out this morning.

Thanks Jinman and Western... Her Pappy raises show lambs,so that will be all towards college, thats so great. I(Hall Ranch) will be donating a show steer to a friends son next year,he tried so hard with his market pig and didnt make sale,it was also his first year. My oldest doesnt have the desire to show and the youngest still has 4 more years(and wonts to show one of everything:eek:),in the mean time going to help others. Little Abby(niece) was so happy, I got something my eye cause it started to water;)

Congrats on the win.

Rain? Way cloudy this morning...It's just like my uncle said about the 50's drought..."John, it would cloud up and look like it couldn't help but rain, but never would."

foreman Etexas, did you get to see the expression on her face when she won? I bet she will be the expert to consult at school.

No rain here either. I notice around here about 25% of the mesquite leaves are turning yellow like they have been poisoned but it's just a hit and miss. Then I remember that 34˚ morning here on the hill - I bet the lower areas got some frost and the mesquite leafs that were out got hit.

Texasjohn, do the mesquite by you show frost damage?

The Pecan trees are still in winter mode.

Pecans not out...haven't seen any sign of burn on mesquites...hard to tell if they will show anything...I was up just before daylight...my new weather station on the hill where we live showed 32.8 degrees, then I noticed just at sunrise it was 31.8 degrees, if memory serves, not gonna go look it up...but point is that it was just at the freezing point for only a few minutes, then warmed up as the sun came on up...Maybe "down in the valley" a few are showing something...I've fought them for 30+ years...very few remaining...a few come up each year...Reclaim mix does the trick, just gotta stay with it...Used to have thousands of plants, now probably less than 100 to spray this year, including new sprouts.

Sad and dry state of affairs, noted above.

I love puppies and kittens, but there isn't much cuter than a newborn calf. Calves and kids (baby goats) are two of the cutest things on earth.
