Showed up in my back field

My neighbor saw this guy in our back horse pasture last week. I have heard they have been showing up in southeast Pennsylvania but this is my first experience with a coyote. We have a lot of foxes and occasional bobcat. Mike

Here in southeast Ohio there are common and there are times when they have been in my yard, just took a quick shot at one last week in the yard. if you have a dog listen to his bark it will be different when he sees or smells one close to the house. and they always stop and look back before going over the top of a hill best time to get a shot at one if it is still in range. You might not belive me on this one I did catch one going after one of the house cats one time last year and ran over it with a 4WD ATV did not kill it but it did not move very fast after that. did not have a gun with me at the time

We have lots of coyotes here, you can hear them singing at night. Last summer about 3:00 in the afternoon in the bright sunlight one ran by me while cutting the grass on a riding mower.

We hear coyotes most nights out here, Mike,but rarely see them. I think it's pretty cool that you got to see one. Last winter, we had a pack of wolves kill almost our entire chicken and goose flock. Don't mind critters being around if they leave me alone. Good photos BTW.

A good coyote locator round here is a police squad car siren. Seems to get the ones packed up riled up.

Many here in RI but I haven't had one cause us any problems as of yet. However my dogs are always finding the bones and deer tails that they leave behind. You'd be amazed how coyotes pick a carcass clean. My guess is you have one, there are many more to come.
