I would like to hear from any of you folks that have used or have one.
It sounds like a good carry for snakes (Rattlers).
What do think??

I carry a small .22 cal revolver for that. Loaded with .22 bird shot. Kills snakes and mice instantly. You must be trying to bag an anaconda

Thanks for the reply.

It has been quite a few years since I have fired 22 bird shot. But if memory is correct at anything over about 5 feet it was worth less.
Average Rattler around here is about 4 feet on up to over 6 feet. They are tough as he!! & I would like something that can be counted on.

In principle the 45/410 seems like a good idea except it is a compromise between the two. If snake killing is its purpose it may be adequate. My experience with the most common version is that for some reason it shoots the shot in a donut pattern. A donut on a rattler may not be your objective. The accuracy on the 45 isn't what one would expect from a dedicated 45. It really sounds like a good idea but doesn't pass muster with me. I owned one for a very short time and did not like it.

I suggest a 40 S&W with shot shells. Same price range better shooting IMHO.

I,m inclined to agree with you. 1 intrest is a small frame revolver, even if it is only 5 shot. I don't think that any gun with a rifled barrel will pattern very well shooting shot.

I own three of the Taurus Judges. 410 and 45 long colt. I rarely shoot the long colts, but love the 410 action. Great gun for in the truck, on the tractor, and walking through the woods. Not to mention, would give somebody a really bad hair day. One of my favorite guns.

That is pretty much what I want. Why do you not shoot the 45 long COLT??

it's an overly heavy 45lc.. and a pitifully short 410g

my stepdad got my mom one. she hates it. I've fired it and was non plussed... and i'm a big fan of things that go bang and make smoke.

the concept is neat. the implementation seems lacking.

on the other hand.. i have a circuit judge. .. much better implementation.

no longer an overly heavypistol.. and is a quite acceptable 410.

good camp gun imho.

just my opinions.

as for the 'heavy pistol' maybee i should clarify. I don;t mind a heavy pistol. I'm a hand cannon fan. 44AMP 44mag, 454casual, 50AE, 500swmag, etc. all GOOD heavy hand cannons... witht he firepower to back up the need for the heft. 45lc and 410 don't merit it.. :)

That's because the barrel is rifled. The gun is a derringer as far as I'm concerned, no reason to rifle that short barrel. The pattern will vary depending on the shot size, but it's a close quarters self defense weapon.
I personally would prefer that it have a smooth bore, but that may be illegal.

I have big & heavy, 45 ACP cal Smith. Not very particle for carry out in the country. Small & fairly light that can just be put in the pocket at times.

Tell me more about the Circuit Judge.
