I carry a small .22 cal revolver for that. Loaded with .22 bird shot. Kills snakes and mice instantly. You must be trying to bag an anaconda
In principle the 45/410 seems like a good idea except it is a compromise between the two. If snake killing is its purpose it may be adequate. My experience with the most common version is that for some reason it shoots the shot in a donut pattern. A donut on a rattler may not be your objective. The accuracy on the 45 isn't what one would expect from a dedicated 45. It really sounds like a good idea but doesn't pass muster with me. I owned one for a very short time and did not like it.
I suggest a 40 S&W with shot shells. Same price range better shooting IMHO.
I own three of the Taurus Judges. 410 and 45 long colt. I rarely shoot the long colts, but love the 410 action. Great gun for in the truck, on the tractor, and walking through the woods. Not to mention, would give somebody a really bad hair day. One of my favorite guns.
I would like to hear from any of you folks that have used or have one.
It sounds like a good carry for snakes (Rattlers).
What do think??

it's an overly heavy 45lc.. and a pitifully short 410g
my stepdad got my mom one. she hates it. I've fired it and was non plussed... and i'm a big fan of things that go bang and make smoke.
the concept is neat. the implementation seems lacking.
on the other hand.. i have a circuit judge. .. much better implementation.
no longer an overly heavypistol.. and is a quite acceptable 410.
good camp gun imho.
just my opinions.
as for the 'heavy pistol' maybee i should clarify. I don;t mind a heavy pistol. I'm a hand cannon fan. 44AMP 44mag, 454casual, 50AE, 500swmag, etc. all GOOD heavy hand cannons... witht he firepower to back up the need for the heft. 45lc and 410 don't merit it..![]()
