Re Wow! Thanks for the link! At 12:30 you can see him licking his finger to auto start the wiper equipped with the moist detector...

Yes, one of the many ideas I'd like to steal from him. I'd like to put mine on the rear wiper for blowing snow.

A few weeks ago I sent MIA an inquiry on one of these as well and didn't get a reply either. So it likely is just poor customer service and not because you are in Canada. I just thought they must have enough customers and don't care... I searched a bit and saw others have had the same poor service on responses.

I will be watching this to see if we can find another option.

Thanks for the update MF1433V. Good for them if business is booming, perhaps they do not wish to expend? However, for us it doesn't seem like good business. I will try local with my dealer.

I think a lot of tractor dealers have email address but don't really care to use them. My dealer MAY respond to an email, but I'm a little surprised MI isn't a little better. I'd pick up the pick up the phone and give them a call, a lot of people here swear by them.

Phone call... I will try that this afternoon! I just went back on their web site
Hound Dog Attachments

It's already design and everything... I hope I can work out something...

Phil

Yes and please post an update if you would. If you have good results over the phone I may give them another try.

Thanks!

I just had a long talk with my Kioti dealer: highly interesting! His first trade was a machinist, so he's pretty well educated in that field! To put it in a nut shell; a ripper tooth is indeed a very handy piece of equipment to own. He is a bid advocate for a short type of claw. Three types of use: first to dig out larger rock without making a huge mess around. Second to dig out a quick trench to burry wire. Third, to removed stump/roots.

A removable tip for him is a must. Many farmers around here are using that ripper to make a fast trench and tips need to be replace. Second, a short type of claw is a far better design, because you don't loose lever power. The longer the ripper the less lever effect you have. With our type of small backhoe, 14 inches would be top for him. A 12 inches ripper will pop out any type of embedded rock in clay... You might not be able to do it with 20 inches...

His preferred type of steel for ripper is composite leaf steel. Ripper for scarificator is already made of that type of steel. So he offered me a custom claw: the bracket will be an exact copy of the original Kioti backhoe, triangular reinforcement to link and weld an heavy-duty ripper tooth. All the trimming pain welding... for 300$

I said yes! What else! I will post pictures ASAP when I get it!
If I was living closer to MIE I would have pursue business (or try to...) but considering shipping fees, custom, I rather do it local.
Many thanks for all you guys! Your inputs are very much appreciated!

Well it's good to follow up...MIE did respond to me weeks ago but just had sent it to the wrong address so I never got it. I sent another e-mail today and they forwarded their original response. So I wanted to post an update because MIE did respond with with a reply in line with the great service voiced by other TBN members. Looks like I will be getting a ripper too!

you can get a one tooth sub soiler for trenching that runs directly off the three point hitch from any of the Ag supply guys. That would be a lot easier for that task than a back hoe ripper. I can see the BH ripper would be needed for roots etc.

stationnement.jpgslip on kioti backhoe.jpgpic backhoe.jpg

Finally, I got a picture! I received the tooth some time ago. I could dig out a parking spot (first pic) the tooth was greatly appr馗iated to rip out some of the roots from the maple, and mostly to remove a stump. And other add on I appreciated was the "slip-on" blade on the bucket, to smooth out the job and to spread around the gravel: great! (second pic).
And finally, the pic of the tooth prior it first uses. The curling power of that tooth is pretty amazing, to remove a rock of to cut a bigger root. My regular bucket (16'') is no match!
