Online AMMO

only problem with buying ammo online.. is you have to buy enough of it / bulk to make up fro shipping and ormd tag.. and someone has to be there to sign for it.. meaning it MUST bedelivered on a certain day with no exceptions.

too many 'if's ' for me.

True, it's not economical to buy a box at a time. But for me, in a rural area, shipping charges are less than gas costs to drive somewhere. With fuel prices as they are, it costs me as much to run to the local Walmart (with bare ammo shelves) as do shipping charges.

Not all ammo shippers require a signature.

I have bought some from Sportsmans guide (yes, I even joined the club - mostly because of the double discount, free shipping, and $20 coupon). I ordered some yesterday that was a "one day flash sale - free shipping, no minimum" and used my coupon. At our place, anyway, they (UPS or Fedex) leave the box on the porch. I've never had to sign for ammo unless I just happened to be home when they show up, which is rare. I have found this to be true no matter what online source I have ordered from, and there have been many.

Just my experience. Otherwise, I agree with Soundguy.

i've yet to have anyone ship me ammo that did not require a sig.

thus i stopepd buying online.

i can't set home and miss 2 days of work waiting for a delivery trruck that can show up any time from dark to dark of 1-3 days.

cable and telco appointments are better timed than that. :)

I buy ammo on line all the time I've never had to have a signature for delivery. The places I buy from verify age before purchase. I don't buy a lot of loaded ammo on line except for the commie stuff 5.45x39 and 7.62x39 and .22 rimfire.

Here us a nice place to find ammo deals on line if changes daily as stock allows.

last time i bought ammo online was maybee 08... perhaps some shipper rules or laws have changed since then??

if they leave it without sig.. is there still insurance? I can't see buying 300$ ammo and having it walk and no insurance that it will be there when i get home.

I have a locking gate.. so no front door delivery unless i am home. meaning stuff stays out by the road.

complicated....

I have purchased ammo numerous times from Sportsman's Guide when they actually had ammo. Some times when the delivery guy came he would ring the doorbell and sometimes he would just leave it on the porch. I do live in the country in a fairly remote location so maybe there is some discretion for the driver whether he leaves a package or not.

around here.. not much gets left.

Here the delivery guys all just throw it on the porch, ring the bell and run for their truck.. We don't bother getting up when they drive in the driveway, as it is expected that no signature is necessary for any delivery. This is FedEx and UPS and USPS, (if something is too big to fit in the mailbox)
