New mig welder / plasma cutter advice.

Bought a 252. It has performed flawlessly! I was looking at a HTP spool gun. They had one on sale for a miller machine around 800. It's not a miller, but I would definetely consider it. Just my 2pennies!

I was going to suggest the 350P, as I really like the pulsed capability.

But then I seen it cost twice as much as the 252 :mur:

But hey, its not my money so I will go ahead and say 350p :thumbsup:

Did you try your local dealer? Praxair or Air Liquide? In my experience they beat the online guys for pricing!

I did, and still waiting calls/answers from both.... and then the buisnesses say buy locally.

Hmm. Not good.
Did you go in in person? In my experience, these business dont usually do email well. Voicemail sometimes slips through too. Nothing beats a face to face meeting.

I didn't talk directly to the air liquid or praxair dealer, they both have representatives in the 2 autopart store we have, and i did go in person on saturday, and monday am.
I did call back both yesterday and today, but still getting, awaiting return calls, than we'll be able to give you a price....
So far Mark from Everlast is the only one who took the time to advice/quote me with his products, besides might get a special TBN discount:thumbsup: Will be deciding tomorrow what i'll be buying and order on friday.

Have to say , a couple years back I was shopping for a ac Dc tig setup, mark was extremely helpful, whatever everlast pays him he need a big raise cause he's definitely a huge asset to the company, saying that however I don't own one, I have a millermatic 210, and a hypertherm 600, never had trouble or regreted the purchase once. As for the tig setup I was given a mid 1970s high frequency box , that weld aluminum fine for my use , but I think I was going to go everlast after studying the product and reviews.

I suggest you go right to the branches themselves (or at least call the branch, not some 3rd party like a autoparts). NAPA here carries some welding stuff but I never get as good a service as when I go to the actual branches. Better pricing at the branch office too.

Yes, go to directly to Air Liquide or Praxair. The auto parts shops are just distributors that buy from Air Liquide or Praxair and can't do much with their pricing. ALC and Prax. buy directly from the manufacturer and can give a better price if you push for it. Go in person! Then don't know you from Adam over the phone or e-mail. Why would they give a stranger too lazy to come into the store a deal?

The nearest Praxair / ALC branche is 150km away, that's why i went to the auto parts store .
