Jacobsen turfcat DW224 power steering cylinder leaking. Has any one found an off the shelf replacement for this cylinder. Jacobsen wants almost $800.00 for their OEM part number.

Have you looked into having it rebuilt at a local hydraulic shop? If it is simply a seal issue they can almost certainly be replaced and even if they are "one off" companies like Hydraulic cylinder repair seals and kits-Hercules Sealing Products - Hydraulic Seals and replacement cylinders for construction and many other heavy equipment industries. can make them.

You send them a picture, and describe the cyl, and they can build one for you.

Have had it to hydraulic shop for new seal kits twice and after reinstalling it on mower it starts a slow dripping leak when turning wheel either direction.

Do you think they tested the cyl before returning it to you? If so, it should have been stated.

There are people that will do a repair and just that.

You would think someone would test a repair work to see if it did what the customer wanted.

They tested it with air pressure.

At what air pressure.

A hyd cyl that won't leak at 200 lbs of air pressure is no indication it will not leak hyd fluid at 1500 psi.
