Hey guys just wanting to get some pros and cons about both types of hook-ups on discbines. Most of my ground is uneven with hills. They vary in size about 50/50 on being wide vs narrower turns. I know most of the other farmers around here have the regular hitch type hook-up style. Most everyone mows with a Kuhn or JD moco as well. What is your opinions on the 2pt style vs the hitch?

i would just get the drawbar hitch.

2 point is more of a pain to hookup, but from what I see of the neighbor who has one, it turns tighter and eliminates driveline chatter on tight turns.

If the drawbar styles you are looking at require a CV style PTO shaft, I'd strongly consider a two point hookup. Some drawbar styles incorporate a swivel hitch and use a standard cardan style PTO. This type may be preferable to the two point type if you are hooking and unhooking a lot. CV style PTO's serve a definite purpose, but if they can be avoided, so much the better.

What about the draw bar hitches like the Kuhn fc type that has the gyrodyne system? Will those still take some pretty tight turns without much driveline chatter?

The 2 point hitch mowers I have seen all have wither a hydraulic or gyrodyne system, so a drawbar type mower with the same system shouldn't have any problems with tight turns.

Exactly. You can turn until the tractor's rear wheel rubs the mower hitch beam and the driveline angles don't change appreciably, or chatter at all.

Your's doesn't have the gyrodine hitch. With a gyrodine hitch the pto shaft stays straight all the time. W e bought a Kuhn 3150 last year with the drawbar hookup & the gyrodine hitch & when turning there is no noise at all from the shaft when turning.
