I start this tractor, when not in use, a couple times a month to keep the battery charged and fluids flowing. I started it about a month ago, ran fine. Went back 2 weeks ago, only cranked with ether and only ran on full choke. The fuel in it is pushing a year old, so I drained the tank and carb bowl yesterday and will add fresh fuel today and try again. If this is not the issue, I would guess a carb rebuild or new carb is needed. Any thoughts?

Just my :2cents: but remember Ethanol...the evil Ethanol is in that fuel....So if you can buy some Ethanol free fuel or buy an additive to go in the fuel , I would try that first before rebuilding the carb...I used some WD 40 on my carb under similar circumstances and it cleaned out the yellow varnish from the Ethanol...Good Luck...and don't forget to check your fuel filter...you may have a good bit of water from condensation..

doubt you need a new one. i'd put in new fuel and see what happens.

might shoot some spray cleaner into the main needle hole and then the fuel inlet with drain removed.. then hook back up and see what you get.

these are ez carbs to kit.

It's leaning out. Might be some junk in it, bad fuel, or stuck float. You can put clean in, check flow to carb, but you will probably be pulling it to clean it.

Cleaned carb and added fresh fuel. Ran rough for a few seconds then died. Wont crank now, just sputters.

Flow to carb ok? Did you clean carb just spraying or work through holes? I have a a carb I finished and it's on my repull list because it has something in it I'm missing. I even went through holes but hey it happens. Did you glance over ignition and peek at plugs?

All carb holes cleaned, carb reassembled. Ignition check next. What is baffling is it went from running fine to this, no signs of an issue.

Sorry, meant to add to previous post. Yes, flow is good.

Check and see if the points are corroded/dirty. Try cleaning them and see what kind of spark you are getting. Sould be nice crisp blue spark. IF it is orange and/or weak and erratic, it wont run well.
