I've bought 15 Kubotas in 10 years and a couple of days from ordering number 16. I've owned the smallest Kubota a
BX1500 MMM, most sizes of BXs and Bs and up to a
L3240 HST FEL. I've owned several implements and even used a few of them. I mow/maintain 2 different locations. One is 4 acres flat and has 6 septic tanks (rental property) and the other is 5 acres of hillside (my home).
One of my most favorite ones was the Grand
L3240 and it was the one I used the least and was almost the gladest to get rid of. My most favorite and most used was the
BX25 because of the back hoe. My most used was a
B7800 FEL RFM because I owned it and the
BX1500 MMM (just hillside mowing machine) the longest. Followed the
B7800 with the
L3240 which I traded shortly to a
B3200 FEL.
I currently have a
B2620 FEL BH for my tractor uses and 2 F3080s for my mowing of the 2 properties. Now ask me if one can go to big or to little.

I'll answer your question. Yes, one can do either. If one goes to little then they can sell or trade their to little machine to a bigger one and one can also sell or trade the to big to a smaller one. Tractors trade/sell just like cars and truck but in a bit different way plus tractors may actually bring more, less or the same as one paid for them after a few years of use. Depend on the increase in prices of tractors, financing incentives, brand purchased and maintenance.
Is the L to big for you, no. Is the B to small, no. Can you sell a bigger tractor quicker and easier than a small tractor? Depends on your location/tractoring buying market and the same with the to small one. If your in mostly residential area then the smaller tractor will sell quicker/better and if your in the middle of farm country the bigger one will sell quicker/better. Myself I'd rather try and sell to a more few acres suburban buyer than a farmer who wants/needs to pinch a nickel.
I didn't give you an answer and didn't intend to, just wanted to give you a different view from my own personal experience.
Oh, the reason I got rid of the
L3240 so quick and wouldn't use it was because I couldn't use it at all on my rental property and it scared the pa toots out of me on my hillside property being so high off the ground compared to the BXs and Bs.
