Nice, got to love an easy fix. It's always better having a good brake system even if you're just using I on your own land, just makes the work more relaxing.
When you really step back and think about it brakes have progressed in power as much if not more than engines. That makes perfect sense because making a vehicle that is really fast with no adequate way to slow it down is a disaster.
IMHO, drum brakes are a thing of the past wrt passenger cars and light/medium duty trucks. I would say all trucks but am woefully ignorant on what a truly large truck like an F550 uses for rear breaks.

I agree. I even have disc brakes on 2 of my 3 trailers. I will convert the other one next time it needs brakes.

Yeah brakes have gotten way better. A new 4x4 supercrew V8 F-150 will stop from 60-0 better than a 2001 Lightning.
The only problem with disks on a trailer is they will rust worse than drums if the trailer is not used frequently.
