Looking at a Massey, pros and cons of 3 cylinder?

The Massey dealer in my area has been there for years. Sounds similar to yours. The NH dealer doesn't stock near as many tractors nor do they seem to sell much volume. I'm not sure but they may only have one mechanic. But I haven't verified that. Around here John Deere is probably the most popular. I just can't see spending thousands more for green paint. No offense to JD owners on here, I'm sure they are great tractors.

Sounds like Massey is the better choice there.

So if it was you all buying....would you take the nicer cab or more powerful tractor? Considering either would do whatever you needed.

I will be the first to say I have no knowledge of either model first hand. I still think you should choose the one you like best. You will be the operator not us and both brands are very reputable imo. From what you say, both are large enough for your tasks.

I have not looked at that model of Massey, but I would hope the cab is decent enough. Having a poor dealer and a lesser tractor for more money doesn't make sense to me for a slightly better cab.

I think with the Big AG tractors I would shop Dealer with machine as all of them break down and you need a good reliable dealer to service your needs.

I'd take the more powerful tractor and get more work done. A nicer cab is only nicer until you have to spend extra time on a crappy job due to having less machine.

I went and test drove the Ford T4.75 and was left wholly unimpressed. The cab ergonomics felt off. The draft controls were unreachable with the armrest down. The loader control was a bit of a reach. The remote controls were a bit off in placement. The pedals looked cheap and the brake pedals were too far apart from one another. The overall fit and finish seemed less than the my current tractor (JD 5425). The hydraulics for the front power steering were a couple of rubber lines that looked to be routed as an afterthought. They looked rather exposed. A filter of some sort was hanging down pretty low on one side of the tractor (can't remember which) and looked like it would easily be damaged.

I am not saying it isn't a good tractor, but it wasn't what I was looking for... much preferred my John Deere over the NH.

In the end, I went with a MF5609 (got a 32% discount via an Equine Program which put the tractor in my price range). The Sisu engine has been used in the Fendt line for years and are known for their excellent fuel economy. Heck, if they'll put that motor in a Fendt, I'm not worried about it. I like the relatively short 3-cylinder engine. But for me, the biggest selling point is the maintenance free approach to Tier 4 compliance. Nobody else even comes close. I would rather go with Ad-blue than the systems other manufacturers are using for Tier 4 compliance.

I have no worries about the Agco Power Sisu 33..
