TxDon, are u sure they are red and yellow not red and black? I've only seen one coral snake. It was pretty small. Aren't they non aggressive for the most part?

I have only seen one coral snake in my life. Can you get a photo of it? Or one of it's kin.
hugs, Brandi

Here is a photo of my SIL, Daughter, and Grand daughter:) Can you guess which one is my FIL?:confused2: He loves Star Wars. Darth Vader, Storm Trooper & Princess Leia.jpg

Also, here is a photo of Houston Hobby Airport Southwest Airlines Gate 40. Maintenance (MX) got to decorate Gate 40 in the Halloween decoration contest. Each department decorated one gate.

We made the dragon in our spare time in the hangar. The theme is Dungeons and Dragons. I think we will win:thumbsup:, as I am told photos do not do justice over seeing it first hand. The dragon head is about 4 feet by 2 feet. Forewing span about 18 feet.:cool:Gate 40 Halloween Decorations 2013.jpg

When asked by a coworker what I was going to be on Halloween, I stated.........an Aircraft Mechanic.:confused3:

Robbyr and Brandi, I had a tape measure next to the snake and was going to take a picture but the battery was dead. I charged it up and went back out the next day but it was gone - buzzards or coyotes took it away. I did take a picture the coral snake a few years ago when he was on the porch - see below. They are non aggressive unlike the copperhead, in fact they eat copperhead snakes. I almost got a picture of that but again Whipper started to throw him around (pic below) but he escaped that time but he did leave the dead copperhead behind.

Note: There were 7 copperhead snake bites in our county this year - my cousin was one of the victims. Lots of pain but no deaths.

I think of FIRE when I see coral snake for identification and if the red and yellow (fire colors) are touching it's a coral snake.

I have tried every thing to try to stop Whipper from throwing snakes - If I yell her she just gets more excited If I run away she does not follow....??? You would think the 3 times her face swelled she would leave the copperheads alone - but no, dumb dog. She does throw the snakes about 10' so it's best not to be too close.

Oh my, I would think that if that coral snake got him, that it would be lethal. Don, you can de-snake a dog with an electric shock collar and some snakes. There is usually a group that will do it for a fee if you can find them. That is, if you are fond of 'ole whipper. I'm thinking that dog has found a small piece of your heart. :)

Kyle Whipper is very shy with strangers. I was thinking of a shock collar also but her neck has a wide base and gets narrow to the head making collars slide easily off, that idea was also nixed by my better half. With cold weather coming and snakes hibernating I'll worry about it next year....

Watching the weather tonight I'm close to the line that's suppost to get the 6inches. My ponds sure could use it and last week got the two tons of rye out that could also. With the latest rains everything really greened up and very thankfull for it. Everyone stay safe,I already have one friend in the ICU from car wreck in last rain,3 broke ribs punctured lung.
