you need to shorten and get stouter/larger arm to stop the bounce or it is going to break, the teeth are the best that is what I used on my vermeer they seemed to last for a long time, also dry not to dig dirt, I used to take a shovel or grub hoe and move the dirt/rock away from the stump reslly helps with the saving the teeth

I think it was taking too big of a cut and moving too fast in the video of the maiden grind. I've now done 8 stumps and gotten better at feed and speed.

BTW hickory stumps are hard as all get out.

Nice work. I need one also and not through with my research on build plan. The title is a bit leading but glad I read it. From the video it looks like saw stability might be looked at closer. Details on the wheel construction is what I need most. Thanks for the info.

Very nice build. I do agree with Jarokoro that your swing beam assembly looks like it needs more torsional rigidity. It's hard to tell if the flex is in the tube itself or in the u-joint where it attaches to the frame.

It isn't flex. What is happening is if I take too deep of a cut or go to fast the cutting wheel will climb instead of cutting. I've done 8 stumps now and have figured out how to run it effectively. Works as designed.

Nice build. I need to make me one of these too. I've got some stumps to grind out myself.

Nice work. Question is the rotary table on the Bridgeport a Pratt & Whitney? I have a 12" rotory table that's P & W but cannot find any manual or how to use it.
