Buying Advice I like to buy a used tractor

I can't recognize is this thread humorous or serious one (starting from a subject accordance to the needs, up to the discussion follow-up)? Probably this is due to my mental difference riding on the opposite part of the Globe. :confused3:

yup. i'd not buy a hand tiller for that small plot. I'd hand job it.. or rent a tiller.

ok.. fessing up. I'd go plow it with an old ford and dearborn plow, then disc it. or rip it with the scarifier teeth on my box blade... then run my cultivator over it.. then harrow it... ;) and very likely each of those implements would be on their own old ford too.... :) saves time swapping implements..

I would love to see pictures of those old Fords back in action with their vintage implements. I have seen pictures of your girls before but they weren't getting any dirt on them at the time the pictures were taken.

That's because I can't even turn my Boomer 30 around in a 720 sq ft food plot. I have a garden at home that I did from grass to tilled in under 3 hours with a rented walk behind tiller. I tried to use my tractor with a tiller for my garden at home this year, well because I had it at home from the cabin, and it just made a mess. Sure it tilled it well, but it moved dirt to one end to the other because it wasn't big enough to turn around and till both ways. For that size plot, I will rent a walk behind, and I keep the tractor just for spite. ;)

Need more uses to justify buying a big tractor for the 30 acres....

I thought a tractor would be ok for the 30 acres but your right those things cost $$$$ so I'll just make a small plot for the deer about 20' long and about 10'wide this way I could use a walk behind tiller.

My land is a mix of field (cleared) AND THE REST WOODS.

A tractor would really be ok for the rest of 29.999976 acres, like cartod has calculated. You say you'll keep a deer or maybe deers in the future, it means needs to think about forage preparation for them (cutting grass, raking, baling, transporting ...). Indeed you'll do it with a tractor - your own, or rented - depends on the number of deers, on the other works to be done and on the cost-effective factors in general.

I have a lot of work to do to the land to hunt it and bring deer in but their not the only animals I want to come to my land. I have to build elevated deer blinds cut shooting lanes and so on.
