Dennis,
Just caught up reading two days of posts here. So sorry to hear about your Mom, but glad to hear she can whip it without surgery. Prayers have been sent. Will she still be going on her trip?
hugs, Brandi

Oh yeah, she spoke with the doctor and got him to schedule an appointment for this afternoon, I would have to wait a month!. She had her oil changed, tires rotated and loaded the car!! See what I'm dealing with!! Gotta love her.

It was water from the front bathtub overflowing and was replaced when a crack developed at the drain..........and.......................condensation in the ducts while the air conditioner runs during the summer. My tub had a crack in it that I did not notice until I stepped in a corner while cleaning it. Particle board under toilets don't last long either. ABS tubs suck.

We always put a pot of water on top of our wood stove. I thought the fire in the wood stove took out moisture, thus the reason to put more moisture in the air by the pot of water????????
hugs, Brandi

Brandi,
It may be too late if you have everything sealed back up for this suggestion.

I put a heavy plastic down on the sub-floor under the tub and a stiff mix of ready mix under the bottom part of the tub before, while, or after
setting the tub. Plastic tub bottoms are above the floor a little because of the skirt.
The weight of water and people puts a lot of stress on the tub.
The concrete gives support to the bottom, makes it feel more like a cast iron tub, and for you "soakers" helps keep the water warmer.

Don you're right, your typing things I have heard all my life, sat through I don't know how many lectures and seminars as a kid into adulthood, that dad would put on for various, programs and hospitals. I was speaking to him a minute ago, he and my step-mom just started a new diet routine, said he feels better in just 2 weeks? Just sent me the link, but I haven't had time to look at it, so have no idea what it is about. He did tell me to read up on the "bean" section

Unless the words no fat are accompanied by the word vegan all sorts of red flags go up for me. Hidden fat, artery clogging, endothelium damaging oils are everywhere and need to be avoided. Some of the vegan oils/fats are worse than animal fats. This is not saying animal fats are good they are bad also. Some of the Fake vegan foods are worse also. This is not saying animal foods are better they are bad also for people with heart disease. Some hidden really bad partially hydrogenated fats are in powdered coffee creamers and caned biscuits and rolls.

Western, have you read the labels on the items in you Moms pantry and refrigerator?

A really good nutritionist I found specifically for vegans to find the hidden culprits that contribute to heart disease is Jeff Novick.
Shop with Jeff Novick -- Full Segment FAST FOOD DVD - YouTube

Here is a brief web page where that talks about unhealthy vegans from Caldwell Esselstyn's son Rip, part of the E2. Plant-Strong to Plant-Wrong: How to Ruin a Perfectly Healthy Meal (PLUS a Giveaway!) | The Engine 2 Diet

I know you are blaming stress as the #1 culprit in this situation and that sounds correct with the little I know, but keep an eye open for the foods that will cancel out her healthy vegan diet.

Dr. Esselstyn's quote of the day: "If you eat unhealthy foods in moderation you will have a moderate heat attack."

And if you eat no fat, or low fat, you will live forever?

yes . . .

A no fat diet will do much harm, low fat is good. , depends on what "fat" you're eating, some fats such as Omega 3 are beneficial, trans fatty acids should be totally avoided. many kinds of fat some good some bad.

Think I will go have a bowl of Blue Bell now:D

Hey!! the weekend is looking like Springtime almost 70* for Sunday!!

Thanks Ron, Weather here has also been nice, should be good for the next 10 days:thumbsup: Drying out quick though, lake levels getting worse overall.

OH,,,I was at the feed store Monday, they already have seed potatoes, thinking it is about a month early? We might try a couple short rows.

As soon as I started showing my wife the pictures of all your venomous snakes in the yard and on your porch, she said
if I wanted to move to Texas to be sure and send her a postcard once in a while. :D:confused3:

paceron--It was just a nice discussion on Texas Property Taxes then you had to bring up our "Texas Politicians". No Fair!

Jinman, Bird, FG, Western et al--We should be happy to pay our property taxes with our School Districts turning out such knowlegdeable and qualified citizens. I don't mind paying out my hard earned money for a high quality product.

Charlie, I have a problem with the $500,000+ signs they are putting outside of the schools, the digital ones. Rather see that money go towards education or scholarships.
