Wakey, that link was way cool but then there are all those other 'Tubes on the side I had to watch; marine diesels, train engines .... so now you owe me at least three-quarters of an hour of lost work time. Please supply an address so I can bill you, 'K?

I bought some bred heifers in December that started to calve this week. This little guy was just hanging out alone this morning so I thought I'd check on him.

Yes I'm sorry, should have mentioned the fact that he (she?) took off like a streak of lightning the second I tried to get closer. He (she?) is two days old.

Six down, only 58 more to go!

Here are a few more from this past week. image-445042909.jpg image-3383669322.jpg image-3088744340.jpg image-4282866881.jpg image-2887980574.jpg

DT86 you have a good looking calf there. Kind of makes me miss having cows. When my longleaf pines get off the Federal Conservation Program they are on, I might run a few head on them. There is good grass under the trees, and cows do keep the weeds and oak trees down.

Mom probably had him/her sunning a little. I'm expecting some myself soon.

Thank you Larro.

I have read several studies on grazing cattle under pines.

AGRIMAN,
Yes, she (as it turns out) was just sunning.

Here are two from today. image-2977502031.jpg image-2463361885.jpg

Another picture of calves. These are two days to a week old. How many of the little devils can you see?

We'll call this one "New-Moo Daycare Center".
