What was the cost?

Everyone laughed when I bought my Ford 350 v-10 with built in tailgate step. Now everyone thinks it is neater than sneakers. They had some really feminine names for it when first introduced. It's a real life convenience for me.

At 54 I have been putting off the inevitable...
My F350 sits off the ground quite a bit...
I am 5'-7" and my short frame needs all the help it can get...
Years ago my dad bought one of these and I made fun of him for it...
Guess what???
One is going in the truck next week...
Aggravating but needed...

I put one of the AMP steps on mine and love it. Yes the price is outrageous but it is super nice especially when things are wet or snow covered. DiamondPilot mentioned the mud and he is correct. I added fender flares and contoured mud flaps and it solved that problem for me - (but I also don't 4 wheel my truck or anything like that)

I've installed several of them, also use the electric step running boards. They make a side bed step also. You couldn't run fast enough to give me a set of the oval or whatever tube running boards. You get what you pay for and everything I have used from Amp Reasearch has been great.

Saved me more in chiropracter bills than it cost.

Flopping on wrong is annoying & uncomfortable, but flopping OFF wrong can be disasterous

My Toyota Tundra came with a bed step and I don't know how I got along without it. The old days of trying to climb into the back of a pickup are over.
Does anyone know if they make side steps for the cab? I don't really want running boards and that might be an option.

My buddy's brother owns a rental yard. Went to climb into back of a customers F350 by putting foot on bumper step, grabbing top lip of tailgate and swinging himself over. Tailgate wasn't latched and he fell over backwards landing on his head. That was several years ago and not certain how it all turned out but it wasn't nice. Be careful out there. In the big picture of things there's no real need to rush.
