Ever wish you had more snow?

I live in southern Indiana, Hate to wait until next year to see if new cab ,blade and snow box that I spent a month of evenings and weekends building to see how well it works....lol . my ancestors are from Mich. I do alot of Vol.snowplowing in my town. I luv the snow. just waiting... It's the highlight of my winter.

I just found your pics of the groundmaster snow machine. That was a smart move to add some shelter. It would have been handy here tonight. It was 1°F with a -18° wind chill while I was clearing drifts after work.

Hopefully, with the way things are going this winter, you'll get a chance to try it out real soon.

Just a quick tip i gleaned from a TV show of all places!!: use your grill or BBQ to heat up some decent size rocks outside and then take then them inside and put on a suitable surface. Haven't tried it yet but should work. My $.02.

Yup that's a good way to get injured...

Moisture in the rocks will cause the rocks to explode/spall when heated.

H*ll no! weather man said today last year this time we had 17.4 inches of snow for the winter. As of today we have had 47.3 inch 4/10 of an inch off of the snowiest month ever in Michigan! Snow, Snow go away!!!!!!!

funny thing is I'm just on the southern edge of all this midwest snow...I'm talking about 30 miles...lol

i guess I'll just load up and find the nearest good snow the next time it hits the area...just want to play.

The start of the this winter we got a lot of snow. So outside in the cold I replaced the fuel lines, filter, and tuned up the carb on the 1971 Arctic cat panther that has sat unused in the barn for years. Then I found and fixed all the shorts in the lighting wiring so its safe and legal to operate on the trails...and now? Well, you guessed it. There's not enough snow.

i say: the more the better. that's not necessarily because I have any great love for snow, but instead because so many others don't like it. i live in rural america and i like it that way. if it takes cold weather and snow for a part of the year to help keep population down, i'll tolerate it. let's face it, the rest of the year here is pretty tolerable. comfortable without requiring air conditioning most of the time, comfortable and safe to go out in the woods at any time. mosquitoes blackflies, and snow are all we have to keep the tourists from staying between labor day and memorial day. if the weather was good year round then more of them would stay and eventually it would become more urban. i'm sure it would take a while before it was noticeable, but why change a good thing.

I just read a book where the claim was made that black flies are what will save Maine from civilization. :laughing:

the snow and cold is what keeps North Idaho population in check also.

I love the mass exodus of people when the temps drop. After a particularly bad winter (140" of snow) the for sale signs pop up.....thats always a good sign too hehe
