When Yellowstone blows, don't start your tractors! The ash will ruin the engine.

Best thing to do, since Maine is well outside the projected impact area, is to ship your tractors to me for safe keeping.

Call now for shipping to beat the rush. Don't get caught sitting on your ashes.

Now that is funny!!!

Remember Mount St. Helens? A truck driving buddy of mine gave me some ash from the eruption in a Mason Jar. It's looks like coal dust material.

Also, if you look it up you will see that it is producing at least a 1000 times more Helium 4 than ever before in recorded history. I live in Northwest Iowa and right outside my town in an exposed sedimentary layer on a hillside lies exposed a 5 foot layer of volcanic ash that the Yellowstone volcano deposited 640,000 years ago that helped bring about the extinction of dinosaurs in western Nebraska. That is a quantifiable fact and no bull. So I can allow myself to be slightly concerned when the geologists in Yellowstone using their differential gps devices say the mantle has begun pushing up, it is real.

Um, the dinosaurs went extinct at the end of the Cretaceous, 64 million years ago, or roughly sixty three million three hundred and sixty thousand years prior to your ash layer.

That is quantifiable and not bull

NO WHERES BUT THIS ARTICLE MENTIONED ABOVE, CAN I FIND INFO ABOUT HELIUM BEING 1000 TIMES more than expected. All the articles i find simply say that the levels are higher than they would expect from underground sources.... they also state that the gases may have been trapped in magma chambers. i did a google search.

Yellowstone Park Releasing Ancient Helium, Researchers Find : Science : Nature World News

Researchers discover helium billions of years old being released in Yellowstone

see if you can find any real data..not from a prepper site

Steam plumes rise above thermal features along the Firehole River at Yellowstone National Park. Researchers with the U.S. Geological Survey determined that the famed national park was releasing hundreds if not thousands of times more helium than anticipated. (Ken McGee / U.S. Geological Survey )

That's not much of a citation

Wasn't just "close" to the eruption I am 300 miles away and vehicles were ruined all over. It was impossible to drive until they finally got the road cleaned many days later. I was the lucky stiff who bought a used pickup and found later that it went through the ash - took a total rebuild only thing original was the crankshaft. Block had a casting flaw that broke after the rebore.

I'm here in Eastern Washington. I had 2" measured on top of posts. Shut this whole area down totally for over a week. There are places out in the scablands where you can still see the grey of the ash all these years later.

That's been 34 years and still ash that is something.

than ANTICIPATED... not 1000 times more that ever before...big difference

Wow, property prices are pretty reasonable in you neck of the woods. Forest/hunting land goes for about $2,000 per acre here. At least it did before the big oil boom.

We travelled to Bar Harbour from Norwich, Vermont a few years ago. Passed through Skowhegan, just south of you. Nice area.

No or low-paying jobs within commuting distance keeps the prices low. It's great for retirees, hunting/outdoor recreation camps, and second homes.

I think just about anywhere in the country that isn't overrun with strip malls, big box/fast food clusters and subdivisions, is nice. Different areas all have their own style of beauty.
