That's easy.... in the big picture of time, man's pollution is small and insignificant to the planet, especially when compared to what the earth pumps out on a regular basis..... and one big super volcano can surely cause a lot more pollution in a short time than man can over the course of decades. However, you and I aren't going to be here in 100 years. We're hear today. Right now. There is very little doubt that man's immediate actions have caused immediate problems right now. You simple cannot deny that 7 billion people burning day in and day out cannot cause immediate, short-term (in historical time) problems with the climate. Step into a closed steel room and light a fire. Sure, in the long term, the fire will go out and the room will be no worse for wear. But in the short term, you'll be dead.
And before anyone starts with the liberal, tree hugger schpeel.... I burn wood to heat my home and I operate internal combustion engines.... I'm just discussing this. OK. Rock knocker

You could have "nuclear winter" effects or an extreme greenhouse. Depends on a lot of variables, but a super volcano would have global effects

Ok, so I was off by a couple of zeros and they were mammals and not dinosaurs...my point is the same fate faces us from the ash. Rooftops of buildings would collapse from the shear weight of the ash, no crops would grow with ten feet or more of ash covering it, animals will die from lack of food, engines won't run and will seize up because the fine ash will either clog up the air cleaners or it will score the cylinder walls and all of this will make for a generally bad day

You're kind of messed up. The above was a Miocene event, and not from Yellowstone. It came from a volcanic center in Idaho. It is probably due to the same mantle plume as is causing Yellowstone, but it is decidedly not Yellowstone.
The 640,000 eruption is probably http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lava_Creek_Tuff and I can't find the thickness in Nebraska of the ash fall.

its been changing throughout history. no one is going to change my mind that all the garbage being pushed thru to try and "change" the heating of the planet is just to make some rich people even richer.
charging for carbon you produce.. give me a break.
Even if the USA were forced into this carbon tax along with some of the other sheep countries, what would this do to prevent the smog from China, etc from continuing to spew forth their toxic crap. Nothing

Second, all the history indicates that humans thrive more during warmer periods than colder ones. It is likely, though, that earth has warmed less than many official temperature records indicate for a variety of reasons, including: few long-term records from either the southern hemisphere or the 71 percent of the planet that is covered by water; distortions from the urban heat-island effect and other faulty siting (e.g., temperature sensors next to asphalt parking lots, etc.; the decline in weather station reports from Siberia after the fall of the Soviet government; the arbitrarily ceasing to include measurements from northern latitudes and high elevations, etc.) The most accurate measures of temperature come from satellites. Since the start of these measurements in 1979, they show minor fluctuations and an insignificant net change in global temperature.

Obviously more explanation is necessary for some. The eruption of a volcano is not caused by climate change OK. Now as I wrote "I am not talking about the after effects do just the eruption" Now what that means is the eruption is NOT caused by global warming therefore has zero bearing on global warming until it erupts then the ash and gas will have an effect DUH. In other words the the eruption will happen regardless of the climate.
