i remember paying off my old JD870 years and years ago..that was a nice feeling. I ended up keeping that tractor for a total of 14 years.

Now...like you say... stay away from tractor lots.

Congratulations Lady. Sure is a good feeling, Enjoy the moment.:drink:

Paid my toy off 2/3 years ago. Have not bought anything else for it. Purchase included back hoe, post hole digger, Hydrolic Gannon & FEL.
The rest of the toys I built, Forks, 2 drags, Pickle fork digger, ( for digging a narrow trench for pipe & electrical,).

Never Buy If you can Build.

Howdy Jim,
I agree. I like building equipment. After all, that is I do at work with aluminum........fabricate. But I do need my own welder. Maybe this summer! Do you have any new threads I have missed?

hay...thats like what i built. I added top and bottom steel and placed a 2-5/16" ball smack dab in the middle.

I was thinking of adding teeth, but do more smoothing than digging with my bucket. Im actually thinking of buying another bucket to use as digging only. heavier with teeth. been looking into it.

Grsthegreat,
Take that ball off and add a receiver tube. Then you can add a vise, a boom pole. All types of doodads can be put in the receiver tube. 5-14-07 Ball Mount.jpg

Hi Lady,
Forgot the roller & compacter that I built. Log splitter & some stoves. Not doing much at the moment. Still have to finish the brakes on the old Dodge.

2&1/2 months in & out of the Hospital & rehab sure slowed me down. That crap is still bother me. 10 / 12 Inch cut about an inch wide 2 inches deep, muscle & everything else gone in my right groin.
About 3 weeks ago took a bad fall, severe strain & fractured bones on left foot, slowed me down even more. Still swollen & black & blue.

2 Gimpy legs not so much fun.

Still able to enjoy a few beers:thumbsup: & Figh:)t with my 2 girls.

I guess I can do the Texas 2 step also. Just paid off my L4240 3/10/14, and sure does fell good. Just the little BX2660 to go, it's close. Also got done with the truck this year. My B7800 I got used and paid that off real fast.

Hi Bindian, Congratulations, ownership (of The Big Red Beast) is an "awesome" feeling isn't it!! I'm glad to hear that all has worked out the way you planned for it. Although, once you start talking about retirement, making plans, etc., etc., it usually means more space/equipment to maintain that added space...keeps you in the mix with the rest of us. Looking forwards to reading more of your fabulous exploits. Happy Tractorin"

Dang Jim. Guess that is a good enough excuse to have not finished the brakes on the Dodge. Take care and keep going. Have you made more than 1 roller?
