Im currently grilling burgers and brats/ Italian sausage at my apartment. There are two natural gas grills I can use and they work well.

Moving soon and looking to buy a grill at some point. There are lots for under 300$. A friend of mine has a STOK grill that seems great! My mom has a grill that has charcoal and gas sides.

What is everyone grilling? I want to learn what all I can grill. I may put my grill in the truck bed this summer and take it camping too! I find the portable gas grills are a joke if you get a cheap one.

we use the grill year round, but a lot more in summer time. veggies get grilled as side dishes,
asparagus, mushrooms, peppers, onions, summer squash, zukes. roasted potatoes, or sweet potatos are
always good. sweet corn if we have room (soaked in water for a little while and put on in the husk)
burgers/dogs, sausage, chicken many ways, bbq, spiedies, or just marinated boneless breasts. steaks
(usually ribeye) pork chops, pork loins, turkey breasts.
we also have a brinkmann smoker, great for briskets! we use that for large parties as a charcoal grill.
plan on using the smoker more every year, but only really run it 2-3 times a summer. we tend to do
pulled pork in a slow cooker, and ribs come out fine wrapped in foil (with a good rub) and slow cooked
in a low oven or very low grill.

The portable gas grills are handy if you buy a cast iron griddle that fits over the top. With a 2-burner camp stove and a griddle you can pump out breakfast for hunting camp no problem, a gallon of coffee at a time, bacon, eggs and dozens of hotcakes. Don't use the griddle for the bacon, just grill it on the rack.

At home I use a Weber kettle most of the time, but have built an oak pit for special occasions. I used stainless for the rack and brick for the sides. It's about 30" deep, but the rack will lift a foot above the pit sides, for loading and if the fire gets too hot. 4 to 6" hunks of dry oak are about right.

I have two grills. One I made out of homemade pavers, slip in rack framework and stainless steel racks. The other is a Webber gas. The webber is my winter grill and the other is for summer. I smoke my food in either grill with apple wood.

I have a charcoal Weber grill, hate the propane one's.

I have a gas char broil which I don't like. It just hasn't lasted well, the porcelain covered racks have rusted through (2 sets) in a short period of time.

I also have a Weber charcoal grille that I LOVE! The food tastes SO much better cooked over charcoal than gas. It's a bit more work, but worth it! I use one of the chimneys to start the briquettes, so it isn't too bad, just takes an extra 20 minutes or so to get the fire ready.

I have one of these

Pro Deluxe Charcoal Grill at Menards

Nice for the money. Castiron removable grates. And there are 4 of them, which is really what I like. Cause I like to smoke meat, but not with the smoker attachment. Rather I can remove 2 grates, have the pile of charcoal there and add the wood to smoke on, and cook indirect with the other two racks.

As far as what to cook, I mainly just do burgers, steaks, dogs, etc. The normal. Dad has a grill just like it. I dont have an established garden yet. And usually not feeding many. But at his places, we do chicken, pork, corn, stuffed jalapenos, even squirrel on the grill.

I dont like gas grills. I like the taste of the food over charcoal with a little cherry or apple wood to smoke over. Those two are my favorites.

Have a 2003 vintage 35,000 BTU Craftsman gas grill that I anticipate using soon for burgers and chops. When we are away from home, my choice is a George Foreman Wheel it and Grill it that packs up...much like a Coleman Road Trip. As great as charcoal tastes, I prefer the convenience of gas grills.

BTW, a decent gas grill isn't that costly...my Craftsman cost me $127 with tax new, and it included a free lp tank. So far I have had to replace the burner 1 time and repair the vaporizer bars and add a grease drip tray. Maybe 2 hours and $25 total.

I grill year round but more in nice weather. BBQ chicken, steak, BBQ pork steak, brats, burgers, kabobs, etc. I have a Holland gas grill and love it. With it's indirect heating you never have to worry about flare-ups.

I used to have one of these for camping and it was the cat's meow for portability. Weber One-Burner Q1000 Patio Gas Grill - Walmart.com

does anybody use the new Infrared grills? looks like a scam to me,
isn't it really just heating steel up under the grates to do the cooking??
