kubota vs. kioti

   / kubota vs. kioti #231
Oh, and if anyone want's to know, in the Kubota vs Kioti debate: Kioti wins almost every time unless you are talking hydro transmissions, then Kubota has them beat. And if you are talking 3pt hitches... well... let's not go there!:laughing:

All in good fun guys, all in good fun.!
No Kubota's or Kioti's were actually harmed in this discussion.:)

Well now that the debate is settled :D:stirthepot:

You know I read about the kubota 3pt hitches all the time and I don't get it. I have a gl3130 and that is the smoothest hitch I have ever used. You can move it either direction 1/16 inch with no problems. I know your talking about one of the L models! But remember kubota makes all types of tractors, light ones, heavy ones, small and large. Just according to what you want to buy. So making a broad statement covering all of there tractors is wrong. Also as far as to compare a kioti to a kubota, pick the right tractor to compare it to. My cousin has a ck35, he likes it and is a nice tractor. But the GL3130 I have is less horsepower but heaver built.

Actually, and in all seriousness, in my own shopping looking at 60ish hp HST tractors, all of which (with exception of Mahindria) have electronically controlled transmissions Massey and Kioti have the best-to-use HST transmission and Kubota's L6060 has the worst. The reason being that Massey and Kioti have a simple knob to dial up and down the acceleration and with it power, and deceleration of the HST, whereas Kubota has a single, impossible-for-me-to-use button that wades through menus, which, if not perfectly pushed for the right amount of time, means starting all over again. Knobs trump buttons. Funny thing is that Kubota used to have a knob. But now, they made it stupid hard to button.

I was just kidding, I am well aware Kubota makes tractors with smooth 3pt hitches. Just not all of them.:D

Why did Kubota contract with Daedong to build tractors for them for ten years? Many of those "Kubotas" are still running around BTW.
That is exactly what I was trying to say earlier. If hp is king then why does most pulling / working equipment have way more torque than hp. Chew on that for a while. :)

Look at most of the new HD light trucks. They have double or more torque over hp ratings. This is why the larger displacement engines just perform better and the reason I hate all the newer smaller displacement stuff coming out of Asia and other countries. Bring back the real engines please. We want big pistons and tons of low end torque. I have had both and until you try both it's hard to fully understand the difference.

That seems to be a bit of a misrepresentation. Pushing the button once enables "Stall Guard" mode. Pushing it twice enables "Auto H-DS". Pushing it a third time puts you back where you started. You're never more than 2 pushes away from the mode you need. I wouldn't consider that wading through menus.

I will agree that putting the HST response in a menu instead of a knob, does seem like a step backward, but perhaps they felt that most people just picked a response and stayed with it. At least you get to choose a response with the Kubota. Another example are the heat and air controls on my 2010 chevy silverado. Stupid up and down arrows for temp and fan speed.. It would have been a lot better to have a knob that you don't even really have to look at while driving down the road.

Maybe I'm just confused, but my L45 has the same panel as shown in the photo. HST response IS controlled by a knob, and HST mode is selected by the button with three possible positions. What menu are you guys talking about?

Seems funny that everyone is talking about hydro response and as I look at the picture it shows a knob that you turn just as you say you like!!!!!! lmao

The other features that are electronic, the other companies don't offer!!! So if you don't understand how to use them don't worry about them as for some, they don't even have an option to use!!!
