I just got off the phone with Kioti's customer service. I got some women on the phone that didn't seem too savy!
She said it's o.k to use synthetic motor oil, and it's O.K to use Shell Rotella Hydraulic Fluid.

Please be careful, I'm replying to my own post. I don't want to spread any misinformation. I did say that the women from Kioti customer service didn't seem too savy!
I asked her to send me some info on the rotella hydraulic fluid being acceptable to Kioti . She did, apparently she's confusing motor oil with hydraulic fluid. Rotella hydraulic fluid isn't on Kioti's recommended list.

Rotella has a Heavy duty tractor fluid.
Good for transmission, hydraulics and wet brakes.
It works just fine in Kioti tractors. I have in mine.

I'm sure that your right about the Rotella heavy duty tractor fluid, but if you were to get a hydraulic related failure, and wanted kioti to warranty it, can't you just hear someone saying "tough luck, you didn't use a fluid on our recommended list".

Nope, can't do that.

That is precisely why I used the MobilFluid 424. After the warranty is out, I may look for something cheaper.. depends on how flush with money I am.:D

What Murphy said. AND, if you are using fluids that meet the specs of the manufacturer, regardless if they name every product on your planet, you're covered. That's the facts, Jack. And asking advice from the Kioti Corporate office receptionist is a waste of time. The data sheet states to contact your local dealer with any questions. Buying OEM filters doesn't guarantee anything either, nor does keeping the receipt. You could buy Kioti every filter necessary and then use the cheapest Wally World filters and recycled garbage fluids, then when your engine blows screw on the OEM filter, etc. If Kioti is going to deny a warranty claim, or any other equipment manufacturer, it's more likely going to be related to abuse/misuse like the wrong sized back hoe for an undersized tractor, not which oil you chose for the engine. In the case of the HST transmission if you used a fluid that did not specify wet brake use then it's your problem and they could deny coverage.
In fact, if one READS the fine print ONLY Kioti branded implements are covered if tractor breakage occurs. If you use a xyz brand hoe and break the rear end on the tractor Kioti will NOT cover the repair to the tractor. Recourse would be with the implement manufacturer.

Speaking of expensive, I just laid out $31.95 for ONE GALLON of Yamaha 225HP 4 stroke outboard motor oil! Yikes! But during warranty that's how I choose to fly, 'cause nothing is more expensive to maintain than a 4 stroke outboard motor, so I don't want any headaches, period. Expensive peace of mind.

What you say makes lots of sense, but never-the-less, I'd like to see the hydraulic fluid Ok'd in writing by kioti.
I'm having a hard time finding any of their recommended hydraulic fluids anywhere. Rotella, and traveller is available locally though.
