For those retired....what do you enjoy most?

I forgot to mention Steve IA's addition, the beer with lunch thing! Only in the last 4 years did I ever think of such a thing. My thought process is usually something like "well, I just have to sit on the riding mower" :laughing:

The "beer with lunch" thing used to be standard back in the late '70's - usually only 1 beer. However when I started going to Germany in the late '80's it was still a standard there.

Catching up all of the honeydew projects I let go for 37 years while working,LOL.Spending more time with my lovely wife,working in the garden,putting in deer food plots,more time with the kids and grand kids.Being a retired electric lineman I can finally watch/enjoy a good thunder storm without getting called into work.Life is good.

NO more carrying a pager, getting up from dead sleep to emergency calls, my time is my own!!!

I retired 8-1/2 years ago after 29 years of fire fighting. I can find plenty to keep me busy! ~~ Lowell

Honestly, I enjoy having something to do the most. It gets boring fast, when I don't.

I would actually take a job, if I could find the right one.

Retiring after +32 years at a very small aerospace company feels a whole lot like when I graduated from college and went to work for said very small aerospace company:

I wake up in the morning with all the things I'm "supposed" to do and then wonder: "ok, what if I don't get them done, what then?". I'm having a heck of a time finding the answer to that question, just like +32 years ago......

Like others, I enjoy the freedom to do whatever. Of course there will always be things that have to get done around a home, but it's minor compared to the 8-5 grind plus doing what has to get done at home.

The access to information provided by the internet and the time to pursue that is something I really enjoy. I've always enjoyed reading and the 'net is like having a great library in your home.
