Ah ... But there are flat surfaces! On the rear of the fenders, behind the corner glass ... perfect size to hold tools & such while working !

Another plus for the Massey ... the diesel sounds really nice. Maybe we should start a "vote for which tractor sounds the best" thread ?!

You'll win any engine running competition right now because my tractor still looks like an exploded parts diagram in the driveway of my city house and I cannot start it. I did make this video:

I own two Masseys now, but I don't think either the 1600 or 1700 series are all that pretty. The glass on the cab looks out of proportion to me, and I don't like the angled ROPS on the open station models.

Not that any of that has to do with the actual thread topic...

I am pretty sure that is quieter than my DK35se. I don't have a meter to prove it though.

Yeah? What's the second Massey? Did you finally replace the LS?

And ... I think those "straight lines" of the cab and front end are what makes the Massey 1600/1700 series look good. But looks are subjective and reserved for individual assessment anyhow...

I can appreciate something being "quieter" but I'm referring more to the sound and harmonics than the respective noise level. I never really liked the overly clanky sound of my Kioti/Daedong CK20. My LS "Mitsu" sounded ok... this Massey "Iseki" sounds less clanky and more throaty.

My personal favorite of the diesels I've owned was the 3cyl Shibaura diesel I had in my Ford CM272 commercial front mower (built by Hustler/Excel) as it had a very throaty and "industrial" sound. The 3cyl Shibaura in my current Hustler Super Z-Diesel is smooth but the exhaust is really quiet (which is good, I know...) But it just doesn't have a strong diesel sound.

wheel spacers, or tires reversed for a wider stance, simply to get a better view angle on things. this is a video / demonstration, not a scratching me head wondering what you pointing at.

something that has the extra hooks / holes / brackets, for stay straps/chains and check chains/bars.

a black rear end, gray, green, red what ever constant color, doesn't do much in trying to see stuff, it just all blends into a gooey mess, spray paint things different colors if ya have to.

no quick attach on rear end. *shakes head no* blocks view.
if ya have to, get some telescopic lower lift arms. or make your own rear lift arms and make them longer.

something with both, 540 and 1000 pto on the rear.

something open station, just a ROPS, no sun shade or other. ya Peanut going to get burned. but there some shadows coming back off of it. let the video pickup the sound of the machine.

mount a camera off the rops a little bit off center and point down towards what ever attachment, to give a "driver view" looking back or a helmet camera maybe. side views standing on side line :/

HST or like transmission setup. for smooth adjustment in speeds, and no messing around with a gear lever. camera on attachment, not jacking around with gears.

if need be modify the muffler setup for a quieter operation. even if it cuts into your fuel economy,

180 seat, so you actually are able to turn around and change camera angles easily if wanted to. and get a birds eye view. most likely puts limits to TLB or rather tractors with backhoe in mind, but still able to remove backhoe for access to 3pt hitch. don't care about backhoe, but rather the feet area and seat 180 degree turn around.

going to get yelled at, but go with turf tires, or purposely used older R1 or R4 tires with 50% or so tread left on them. so greater chance to get the wheels to loose traction, denoting what can be done to correct the situation with given implement. new tires and a router or saw or something, and kiss some of the tread good bye.

have a TNT setup on 3pt hitch. so you can stop tractor adjust it while video is recording, so folks can see actual adjustment, and then get tractor moving again. vs jacking around with turnbuckles of upper and side link.

split the rear remotes up, one side TNT, other side actual remotes that goes to implement, to reduce the rat nest of hoses so folks can see what goes were. KISS (keep it simply stupid) 2 rear remotes max pushing it at 3 for implements and hose clutter)

FEL = easy to remove (including arms)

run tractor without front weights, or possibly add FEL back on, or add some front weights on. on some of the videos, ya forward/backwards enough to line up due to space limitations. and FEL bucket / forks, sticking out there in front.

run the smaller tractor with the bigger implement and let it come to a crawling stop, and then hook up to the larger tractor to same implement. and shove bigger amount of dirt around with ease.

RPM gauge for engine / PTO RPM gauge, camera view on it. or if possible mount a second one some place, for a better camera view, or abilty to include it in the camera view of the 3pt hitch implement. EDIT: scratch this, giving folks numbers *shakes head no* they focus numbers vs other critical things they should be looking at.

if the rear fenders stick out past 3 pt hitch (right were top link bracket comes off back of tractor), cut them back and re mount rear lights.

if ya run stupid with 2nd person on tractor with video camera, setup a roll cage, coming off the FEL supports and create kinda like a cab frame that includes the ROPS, for something to grab on to. if anything to mount a couple cameras (1 center driver view) and then a couple off center (driver leaning side to side looking down engine at the FEL bucket / forks or what ever)

if tractor has a 3pt hitch like setup on front, might as well get it (hopefully it can come off easily and swap out with a FEL). if you are going to jump up into cat 2 setups, various hay rakes / mowers / conditioners out there that take advantage of front 3pt hitch, vs FEL

============
your not selling the tractor, it doesn't have to look pretty, your selling all the attachments / implements, that some how fits onto majority of tractors. so get something that shows the attachments working in real person driver view.

Yanmar. Give the new kid on the block some show time.

Over the years I have watched most of your videos, but not once did I pay any attention to the tractors. Probably would have noticed a JD 2-cylinder or a pto-equipped mule team, but my focus was on the implements. Don't let the tractor draw attention away from the implement being demonstrated.

To the best of my knowledge a CUT HST with both a 540 and 1000 rpm rear PTO doesn't exist. To get into something like you've described you're into a CVT in the utility size and writing a check for $90,000 or more for an 10,000 pound or heavier tractor. Massey's 6600 series fits the bill.

Completely different story for me. I think it's important for the person viewing the videos, especially if they are interested in the implement, to know the characteristics of the tractor that the implement is being showcased on.

For example, he's using the front Grapple on a low 20 's horsepower compact tractor. That's good for people to know what to expect with that kind of setup. Also, many of his three point implements are used behind the Kubota L. However, I would like to know exactly which model he uses so I know what HP tractor was using the implement.

True, the point of the videos is not to showcase the tractor, I agree. But, it is important to know what to expect the implement to handle based upon the rating of the tractor itself. I think it would be beneficial to give a quick list of specifications at the beginning of each video, showing the tractors HP, weight, transmission, and even lift ratings if available & applicable.... even knowing the hydraulic flow (if applicable) would be helpful to know.

Well my LS is a low end utility tractor (70 Engine HP) and had 3 PTO speeds, 540, 750 & 1000 rpm and it doesn't cost much more than 1/3 of your quote. I paid $35,500 for mine with FEL, triple rear remotes, Cab with heat and AC. But it is gear drive. I believe they offer it in shuttle shift now at least in some of the 70xx models but I don't recall them offering an HST in it. The 50XX series may also offer a multi-speed PTO shaft. I will have to look it up on their websit.

EDIT: Well per website the U series LS only have 540 PTO shaft speed so I suppose one would have to get the P series if he wanted multi- speed PTO. Still they are less than $40K in price and are a lot of tractor for the money. Likely a bit larger than Ted is looking for though.
